This is alot more serious that I would have thought. Sounds very mafia-esque, with the 'inappropriate interrogation methods'.

What an idiot. Who the hell in their right mind would check out over an overpriced commodity that'll just be obsolete in a couple years anyways??

Thank you, Cracked, for your consistent relevance.

EDIT: For everyone saying "it's only technology" etc, did you read the article? He jumped because apple was interrogating and "laying hands" on him.

According to Shanghaiist, the section chief of the Central Security division "may have used 'inappropriate interrogation methods' such as searching Sun's house, holding Sun in solitary confinement and possibly beatings."
"Maybe we beat him, we don't really know."

Praise Natural Selection!
The only mistake he made was to lose his iPhone prototype. Then he was tortured into wanting to commit suicide. I fail to see how this makes you cheer that his death removes his "unwanted traits" from society. I'm sure you've lost something important before. You just didn't have the f*cking mafia come after you because of it.

The fact that he lost a phone does not justify his death.

Honestly, why would he do that? It's just an iPhone
If you work for Apple and lose something like that then they torture you to death.

Or at least do some nasty shit.
Yeah, they are like Soviet Apple or something. I'm waiting for the day they prohibit the use of any words starting with i...

I would call working for a company that would 'kill' you over losing a phone a relatively stupid trait...

This is why I do not like US companies doing work with companies in countries that have no regard for human rights. If it says made in China, I do not buy.

A lot of people ignored the point of the article, didn't they?
The chinese company didn't just slap the guy on the wrist. They did a lot more. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if some "employee" were the ones that "accidentally helped him jump".
I admit, I did not read the article. The thread heading made it seem like another news flash about an epic idiot, and I did not want to drone thru yet another one of those. Having gone back and skimmed the report, I do agree this is pretty fucked up. A single prototype goes missing and the company security guards hold him in solitary? What the fuck is with those people??
