I hope we'll be able to beat Spain, too, but it's gonna be a very tough nut to crack. Those guys are, after all, the presiding champions of the European Cup... plus we won't have Müller in the semi-finals. The team will still play very well, I'm sure, but the subtraction from the line-up smarts nonetheless.

Damn, I wish I had a tenner on Germany to win. They were bloody magnificent. And I love that killer instinct - no arsing about running down the clock, punch through in the 85th (ish?) minute and get a 4th. Fantastic stuff

I know, it was glorious to watch... they never sat on thier lead in any of thier games. Kept on ripping the other teams apart till the final whistle. Proper football.

For such a skinny little man, Muller assserts himself amazingly on the pitch. He'll be badly missed but I still think Germany can hammer Spain, judging by last night's shit performance against Paraguay.

I'm hoping for a win from Spain or Holland, I enjoy both those teams. I also hope France get knocked out early and Thierri Henri gets booed off the pitch (apologies French Escapists... Irish man here, I still love your country)

Dude called it. I'm hoping that Germany can pull it off, but I'm REALLY hoping that Uruguay can manage an upset against Holland. 1/125 to win, 1/75 to make the final, 1/25 to reach the semi. I put £1 on each outcome for a laugh at the start of the tournament, this could be fun.

I just have to take a moment to reflect that Luis Suarez's handball was not cheating and that this argument makes no sense. In fact, handballing the ball when you're standing on the goal line is a common practice in football and the person committing it is well-aware he'll receive a red card and a penalty.
