Why ask for peoples' opinion then berate them for it? You're not gonna last long if you keep it up.
True, any word on Guild Wars?Darkside360 said:If all MMO's were free to play you would see a content update once a year maybe.megapenguinx said:Personally I don't like MMORPGs because I believe you should only have to pay once to play a game...but that's just me
Yes, because if the newspaper says a family let their child die to play World of Warcraft, some guy killed his friend for selling his sword, and more such stuff, means it happens on a daily base and applies to all World of Warcraft players. By this logic, we can also say that all Muslims are terrorists, and all Catholics have (too) intimate relationships with little boys. I call that generalization. (I'm NOT saying these things about the Muslims and the Catholics are true. Hell, I'm even Catholic (as much as a bucket) myself. I'm just saying there are a few 'incidents', and suddenly people believe it applies to the entire group.)Unless your the child of the WoW addicted parents who let her starve.
Micro transactions I think are worse than a monthly subscription. Like I said I like to pay once for my gamesDarkside360 said:Well the fact that they are making Guild Wars 2 kinda gives you an idea that they are finished.megapenguinx said:True, any word on Guild Wars?Darkside360 said:If all MMO's were free to play you would see a content update once a year maybe.megapenguinx said:Personally I don't like MMORPGs because I believe you should only have to pay once to play a game...but that's just me
How often are updates?
I hear that SWTOR may be microtransaction based like GW which scares me. I like to earn stuff, not buy it on the offical website.
I wonder what that aspect was supposed to be.Reqium said:You know... i personally feel it's just a sterotypical excuse? i mean someone hated WoW, then more people followed the one guy, now theres like an anti-WoW cult, WoW isn't a real addictive game, i play i as well, i have a max level raiding character, but i still maintain a social life i still get above 80% aggrigates in school i sill manage to keep my instumental and art skills in form.bowser610 said:I would like to know why people bash wow, or mmos at all
I figure its because "people have no lives" or some stupid sh*t like that
I play wow, and i think it is awesome.
why all teh hate?
okay i know that sounded like i was being a pompous prick, i'm sorry. but i was just proving one aspect wrong.
That's an either-or fallacy. That people are responsible for their own choices to consume (X), and should alone be legally responsible, does not absolve the moral responsibility of someone who makes (X), IMO.And for those who ARE addicted to WoW, it's their personal choice really, it's not like Blizzard hires employees that sneak behinid you and threaten to jam needles in your eyes unless you carry on playing. it's the players own personal choice to play the game, so don't blame a game for the players actions ?
Hopefully not, because you'd be mistaken.Do i see a link here between people blaming WoW for being addictive and the Mothers who blame Manhunt for their nutcase child who just blungeoned someone to death with a hammer?
Sorry here's an old favourite of mine I am the youngest (14) of my 300+ guild.Darkside360 said:Why do people hate WoW you ask?
Well IMHO, because it sucks. You will probably say "well look at all the subscriptions" and I say 80% of the player base is 13 and under and that sort of crap appeals to children and some adults. WoW is just crap.
I'm with Not Good on this one.Not Good said:Endless amounts of grind in a never-ending game? I'm out.
Do you realise how much that is? i only spend about half an hour on my computer on weekdays as it is, and even then sometimes I just don't. But 6 hours on weekends? That's way too much. My opinion of WoW still stands, which is that it's not at all a bad game, just cripplingly addictive to many people, not to mention expensive.bowser610 said:Thats a load of bull btw, i play about 2 hours a day on weekdays, and about 6 hours at night on weekends
