I like it, don't love it. Might get it for like 2 months stop playing for another couple. It doesn't have that strong of a grip on me and I'm not revolted by it.

I call it World of Warcrack for a reason, and for reasons of health (namely, no addiction), I don't play it.
It's not addictive. Stop with all that trife

Good game, does a lot right, can't wait to see how cata plays out. Love blizzard for keeping a close knit community.

I dislike WoW for being more business model than game. I can't help but feel that WoW's design, particularly in regards to diminishing rewards as you keep playing, is designed not to entertain you but addict you (and keep your monthly fee coming).

Of course, it's not just WoW. I dislike MMOs in general for the above reasons. But hey, that's just me.

The only gripe I really have with the lore is how they are killing off a lot of previously great characters. I could understand Malygos dying, they sort of had a good setup for it going after the War of the Ancients trilogy, but the idea of killing the other dragonflights off disgusts me to no end.

I'm glad that Arthas is dead... Now all those xXArthasXx morons can feel empty inside because their "Darth Vader" character is finally dead... UUuuuuugh! Arthas, he was quite a snot really. No respect for his peers.

What I do like in WoW is that a lot of the quests are indeed story driven. Especially in the later expansions you see a lot more plot for any given zone as you level up. For me it provides for an interesting side-step from the monotony of the grind. With cataclysm, the old world will mostly be brought up to snuff. As an MMORPG, I find it handles the story rather well. Yeah, they're killing off a lot of characters, but what else could they do? Have random aliens attack the world?! Pfff.

At least they try to tie in the boss battles into the lore. Yeah, it's not perfect, and there are plot holes, but for fuck sakes, it's almost impossible to incorporate new bosses into the game without getting at least a couple of plot holes.

When we bring up the Red Shirt guy, he pointed out ONE plot hole in the WoW lore. And good for him, I got a laugh out of it, but people complaining about every little plot hole gets old fast. It's not YOUR game, it's THEIR game. They can retcon whatever the hell they want if they need to. And if providing the player base with a fun new adventure means a plot hole or two, then so be it. The complainers need to get their head out of their asses. Their smug sense of self entitlement is not worth the spinal trauma.

(Yeah I stole that last line.) :)

i think its fun, but i don't want to have to keep paying to keep playing. Private servers are ok i guess, but its not the same.

I never played WoW.

Nothing against the game just got put off by outside influences. Aka having my jobless flatmate play it about 10 hours a day while losing his temper with it, swearing a lot (reason he never used his mic while playing his niece) and breaking his keyboard and mouse.
I think he spent more on new ones than the actual subscriptions.

So yes, never played it but respect the game for it's success also including it's fan base.

After all a population of a small nation in fans can't be wrong.
