I played WoW for 4 years, i have seen the game develop and this is the general direction the game has come since release.

Average -> Good -> Great -> Average -> Horrible -> Nosebleed Bad

The fact that you play a deathknight says enough. I hope you have fun thinking you are better than everyone else, but ill let you know now that games balance never existed, and has only gotten worse with the release of WoTLK.

I canceled my subscription 2 months ago.
i played for 3 years and completely agree, i also canceled my subscription 2 months ago and dont intend on playing again ever. the game has become way to easy jsut for mass market appeal, but i think its a shame that players have to suffer for the profit of blizzard which is already making enough with the base that it had before it took the direction that it did.

Just posting this to see how many people actually play WoW and what you think of it compaed to other MMORPG games there are. Also, if you do play, feel free to post your Realm, and if you really want to you can post your race and allegiance.

If anyone does play, please ensure that you don't lose all your typing skills and pray that there are kind gents who will be sure to fix up your myriad of gramatical errors!
Well, since this way of asking seems so much more kind...

I did play, I had an 80 Dwarf Healadin, and a 73 Arcane Mage.

I then realized how much time and money I had wasted with such a loose-ended, unrewarding game. I chose to quit to get away from all the in-guild drama and lack of anything exciting to do.

I don't care if you play it but please don't turn into an anti social night monster that lives of junk food and doesn't move from your computer screen for hours on end
I'm perfectly capable of doing that without WoW...
'Course, I don't live off junk food, I try to keep healthy, but I do sit at the computer for hours...

I stopped playing WoW a few months back, mostly because I got past level 20, and once you hit 25-27, the questing stops and the grinding starts. I played a Warlock, and once he got to that point, I played a paladin.
Anyway, it's not because of the game that people end up being antisocial fuckbags, it's because they refuse to stop playing.

Excuse me? A-baking powder?

I've got a 56 Orcish warrior on Blackdragon Flight, and I never had to grind out more than half a level. You can't stay in one place and expect magical new quests to appear; after a point, the game stops babying you, kicks you to the porch, and says "Alright, Jimmy, it's time to go be a real hero in the World of Warcraft."

Then you just have to wander to the nearest zone and find the hub town for your race.

Tried it. I went through three different areas full of ever more powerful enemies, went to all the towns, and have never found more than 2 quests, both of which are either insanely hard and annoying or really easy and give little experience.
So yeah, sorry, but maybe I'm just playing it wrong or something. =P

Sounds like it. You know, you could have tried a little thing called asking for help. People on WoW may be immature assholes, but as long as you're willing to deal with two or three responses of "STFU newbz", you'll get your help.

This is also the glory of a leveling guild.

I was in a pretty awesome guild, and they helped me through SFK and all those things whose names escape me. And the server I was on was practically empty half the time, so it was pretty hard to find people to help you, even in cities. Don't remember the server, though...Or the realm, whatever it's called.
But yeah...It was mildly annoying, and I just didn't feel like paying for it again, so I didn't.

I have played a 14 day free trial that I bought for a dollar. It was fun, but once the free trial was over, I felt that I shouldn't by the whole thing. That game is way too addictive.

My WoW account has been active since the game came out. I love it, but I'm not obsessed with it. I play maybe 6-10 hours per week. My girlfriend also plays a lot on my account, so we share the cost with just one account. I think it's the best MMO out there dollar for dollar. It has stuff for the casual MMO player like myself but theres also a lot for the hardcore players. Blizzard hit the nail on the head with this MMO and that is why it's been around for so long.

I have never seen an empty server before. Most servers are completely full. At any time you can find a good 50+ people in any major city. I would try a different server or something because that's just unheard of.

And yeah, there are some really good guilds out there. But on the same note, there are some really bad ones too.

In way after generic WoW hate.

I played for a few years, but stopped when Wrath came out because my computer is just that bad. It's been a few months now, and despite the fact I was waiting on Northrend after dealing with the whole Warcraft in space thing for so long, I do not feel like going back anytime soon. I do not like where the direction of the game is going, or the players it breeds. (not because they are asshats because that's typical of anything on the internet, but the game has no curve to teach them anything, which means a lot of horrible players)

If this was just a few months ago, then yes, you are playing wrong. There isn't a part of the game where you need to grind or group for leveling since 2.3.

@Nostalgia

Really, huh? hmm, maybe Ill give it another chance at some point if its still worth it, though actually, now that I think about it, it sounds like it might not be...

Anyway, I havent played since before they upped the level cap the first time.

...Human Paladin that got fed up with being asked to heal.
...and Tauren Shaman who got fed up with being asked to heal.

I really don't understand "OH MAN PRE-BC WAS SO MUCH BETTER." WotLK is simply the best WoW has ever been. Nostalgia is a powerful thing sometimes...

I'm on Aerie Peak,I'm a Tauren Hunter, and I quite like wow.But that might be because I'm a lvl 17 with loads of high lvl friends (who I know in real life, because I HAVE a real life.Take that, other wow players!) who boost me,give me gold, and give me gear. And generally mess around with the alliance by rolling allies and running around annoying everyone.Oh,and my char is Rebelisgood. Also,I would like to apologise to everyone i may have annoyed in my wow time. Also,my friends agree that death knights are pretty pointless now.everyone's a d knight,so no d knights can get groups.Circle of WoW.
Also,I love the whole idea of dual spec, cos being a hunter,I'll need to be able to switch specs for different playstyles, like raids and battleground.
In short,yeah I play wow.

I play WoW as a form of therapy [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/articles/view/editorials/endosgame/5865-World-of-Warshopping]. I heartily recommend everyone play it for a little while, if only so you can see what kind of game can hold people's attention month after month.

I used to like it, but it wouldnt work for me for a month for some reason, and I went back to Runescape in that time.
...Within 3 hours, my mind had been unshackled. Ive never gotten back into WoW again.

i used to play runescape alot but after i got to around 107 ish lvling just took too long u needed to get too many diff stats up to gain one lvl so a friend introduced me to wow and i couldent stop playing im now currently with a lvl 55 and a 61.

i first found runscape addictive around the first 40 or so lvls but when i started playing wow after lvl 10 it was just like Woah.. the interface is much much better than Runescape and i love the PVP after Jagex ruined the Wildy and the made a Trade limit as u can only trade 3k or so to a friend for noting i can see thats a good thing but what about when a mte of urs quits he likes to give his good things to his friends and those two things were the last straw for me and just left my account.

I think all I have to do is post "Hi" in this thread since everyone already knows how I feel about WoW...

EDIT: I do think that I should add that I don't feel nearly as badly about WoW as I did just a few days ago, although from what I'm hearing from former WoW players, I think I'd hate it just as much as I used to if I actually played it for any length of time.

I personally used to play WoW and it is a really good game i must admit but i got a little dis-heartened when more commercialised things were introduced and the game began to get a little boring therefore i started looking elsewhere. I have played all the good MMO's there are and nothing has satisfied me so far i have now turned my attentions to tersting MMO's and i am testing a nice FPSMMO at the moment which is looking good....Can't say which game it is but it is looking gooooood!
