Yeah, wasn't that booked based on after action reports by various people after the zombies lost or something like that? It would have to have a severe change to make a good movie.

I'll just sit over here and see how what the overwhelming opinion is when it releases.

If it's anywhere in the ballpark of decent, I'm seeing it.

If not, well, no problem. I'll just read the book again.

I think that it would be better if it was an hbo series or something. also, with brad pitt as the main character, he would have to be the journalist to be relevant to the movie, otherwise he'll just be on for a few minutes

I absolutely LOVED the book, and as excited as I am for a movie, of course I'm skeptical that it'll even be good.

Still watching it though due to my love of the book.

I was hoping they'd do it as a series of interviews and flashbacks. I couldn't see any other way it would make sense in a film. Have Brad Pitt's character as a journalist or historian or something.

Yeah it would be REALLY hard to make that into a decent movie. I could see it done in a Pulp Fiction style where it follows several characters in totally different stories that sometimes cross paths.

I'm pretty sure movie bob could tell us roughly how well it'll do right now.

And just sitting through interviews would be a boring 90 minutes, my guess is they'll change more stuff than Peter Jackson did to Lord of the Rings.

I just hope they don't cut out the Tom Bombadil (the most epic part of the beginning- in my opinion, guy blows zombies head off with desert eagle), but you know they will- or have, as the case may be

More zombie films.....

The first time I see a film with sparkly emo zombies i'm going to cry.

I can see it coming.

Or glittery werewolves.

That's kind of why I didn't like the book when I picked it up. It's such a passive piece of work and I think war books should be active.

I don't think it was necessarily passive. By other war/zombie novels maybe but a genre can get stale quickly if all books follow the exact same guidelines.

So, am I the only one that noticed that the release date is what the Mayan Calender will end its most recent b'ak'tun (aka, the misinterpretation of it being the end of the world)?

It looks like "World War Z: In Name Only" with just the titles being the same.

And its going up against the Hobbit!

What a waste.

Hey Guys I worked as an Extra on World War Z, and from the 21 straight days on set I had I could tell the whole cast and crew were very dedicated. All the sets were very well built, and a lot of detail was given to making everything look very authentic. From what I could tell, it has the makings of a good movie :)

Sparkly emo zombie-werewolves! OH THE INHUMANITY!

OT:
I enjoyed the book, when this comes out going to watch it, because if anything got zombies right, it was WWz.

In all seriousness, and i'm not attacking you here. I think you're the only one who cares. Superstition and Mythology have no relevance in the modern world.

Well, I love Brad Pitt and the book was fucking awesome, so I guess I will more than likely see it regardless of what everyone says about it.

EDIT:

Have you ever seen Interview With A Vampire? It worked well there and it was also a Brad Pitt movie.
