Mmmm, yeah. I saw that movie on cable and god I'm sorry. I felt like puking because it had James Marsters, Justin Chatwin and Emmy Rossum whom are all actors I like. I wasn't a watcher of the series but goodness I can empathize with you on that piece of crap.

That is so true. I have friends who praise Vampires Sucks and say its the best parody ever. I just walk away since a discussion would be pointless.

All their movies sucks and are far worse then the movies they are parodying. (Yes Vampires Sucks is even worse then Twillight itself.

Anything published by The Asylum.

Transmorphers 2.
Alien vs Hunter.
The Da Vinci Treasure.
Snakes on a Train.
Paranormal Entity.

To name a few. Absolutely ridiculous.

Starship Troopers.

If you haven't already - never read the book. You will forever lust for the blood of the director/producer/screenwriter.
May I suggest it the other way around (I know the book came first, but still): Don't read the Book, because its Borderline-fachist and two-dimensional take on the subject war will bore you to hell, read Joe Haldeman's "Forever War" instead or watch the movie, which is ,besides Norman Spinrod's the "Iron Dream", one of the most wonderfully exagerated Take-Thats on the entire genre of military Sci-Fi

Edit: Oh, and I'm hoping Games Workshop does the same with the Spacemarines in Warhammer 40K seeing how they are basically Nazis in Space
The fact you mention Joe Haldeman's "Forever War" (which I have yet to read - I've only read the Wiki entry some time ago) suggets that we will be naturally diametrically opposed.

I don't deny that the novel itself isn't the greatest literary work ever, but there are some gems in it (Powered Armour, Orbital Drop Insertions, Heinlein making future predictions about Western society that are actually happening... now).

"Anyone who clings to the historically untrue - and thoroughly immoral - doctrine that "violence never solves anything" I would advise to conjure up the ghosts of Napoleon Bonaparte and of the Duke of Wellington and let them debate it. The ghost of Hitler could referee, and the jury might well be the Dodo, the Great Auk, and the Passenger Pigeon. Violence, naked force, has settled more issues in history than has any other factor, and the contrary opinion is wishful thinking at its worst. Breeds that forget this basic truth have always paid for it with their lives and freedoms."
"Ah yes, [life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness]... Life? What 'right' to life has a man who is drowning in the Pacific? The ocean will not hearken to his cries. What 'right' to life has a man who must die to save his children? If he chooses to save his own life, does he do so as a matter of 'right'? If two men are starving and cannibalism is the only alternative to death, which man's right is 'unalienable'? And is it 'right'? As to liberty, the heroes who signed the great document pledged themselves to buy liberty with their lives. Liberty is never unalienable; it must be redeemed regularly with the blood of patriots or it always vanishes. Of all the so-called natural human rights that have ever been invented, liberty is least likely to be cheap and is never free of cost. The third 'right'-the 'pursuit of happiness'? It is indeed unalienable but it is not a right; it is simply a universal condition which tyrants cannot take away nor patriots restore. Cast me into a dungeon, burn me at the stake, crown me king of kings, I can 'pursue happiness' as long as my brain lives - but neither gods nor saints, wise men nor subtle drugs, can ensure that I will catch it."
"I told you that 'juvenile delinquent' is a contradiction in terms. 'Delinquent' means 'failing in duty.' But duty is an adult virtue - indeed a juvenile becomes an adult when, and only when, he acquires a knowledge of duty and embraces it as dearer than the self-love he was born with. There never was, there cannot be a 'juvenile delinquent.' But for every juvenile criminal there are always one or more adult delinquents - people of mature years who either do not know their duty, or who, knowing it, fail."
In a mixed ship, the last thing a trooper hears before a drop (maybe the last word he ever hears) is a woman's voice, wishing him luck. If you don't think this is important, you've probably resigned from the human race.
I would argue with you, but as you said our opinions are diametrically-opposed.
I just think it's worth a mention, that Haldeman fought in an actual war as opposed to Heinlein.

Tron Legacy was a bad sequel to a bad movie. Could have done without that too.
Tron wasn't a bad movie, and i would guess that your judging it on what, the CGI?
Sir, you misjudge me! I just thought it wasn't very good.

It hasn't aged all that well, then there's the scenery porn- seriously, how long do I have to spend watching a door open?

There's the fact that Flynn is a walking Deux Ex Machina with only the most basic reason for his being able to do what he does in a completely alien environment with no instructions. Sure, he's a programmer but it's part of the basic plot that programs are completely different entities then he thinks they are, so how is he still able to manipulate the environment to the degree he can? For example, he changes colour with no explanation halfway through with no reason given for him being able to do that, or how he knew he could do that.

Oh, and confusing colour schemes in the lightcycle races (yellow is the blue guys? The blue cycles are the yellow/orange guys?) - I could go on.

Tron isn't the worst film I've seen, but it's not the best either. It had some good points, like Jeff Bridges and an interesting soundtrack, but it definitely didn't need or deserve a sequel, not many how shiny and good looking said sequel is.

Highlander 2. Just watch it. Go on. See how long you can last, I can wait.

Are you okay, do you need help? I know I know, but it's over now, it can't hurt you anymore.
Try watching The Source, astoundingly it's worse, no I'm not sure how they did it either.

Not to mention "The Source." Horrible way for the franchise to go out.

Hitch-hikers Guide to the Galaxy, if somebody hasn't already mentioned it. If anyone is a fan of the books/TV series/radio series, they will know what I am talking about. Every character was wrong, as were the ships etc (the Heart of Gold is supposed to be 'sleek, like a running shoe', and was a ball in the goddamn film) and how is Zaphod supposed to bang both his heads together if one is under the other? I realise the script was mostly written by the late, great DA himself, and it had an all star cast, but honestly, the guys in the 80's did a far better job.

Eragon ripped off Star Wars. Not in a "the Doom movie was Resident Evil in space" way, but in a truly shameless, scene for scene way.

It starts with a princess being pursued by an evil empire's forces. Before being cpatured, she sends away something of extreme value. It's found by a farmboy who lives with his uncle. He's not sure if he should get involved. After the empire come looking for it and kill his uncle, he decides to go off with this wise old mentor, who used to fight the empire but put that on hold after they lost the war. They meet an untrustworthy scoundrel they are forced to deal with. They find out the princess is being held captive at the empire fortress and go resuce her, but the mentor is killed...and so on
It's called the "Hero's Journey", which is a basic template to film making. Star Wars followed it to the letter, so did Eragon. Difference being Star Wars was a good movie.

I'm going to say The Grudge 2. I've not seen the first, but the second was possibly the worst movie I've ever seen...and it's a sequel to an adaptation so enjoy.

EDIT: Quoting went horribly, horribly wrong. Is fixed now.

Pretty much the new Avatar Korra goes to some giant STEAM PUNK city to learn Airbending from Aangs son. There is some sort of unrest and anti-bender movements and Korra has to do something about it. Or at least thats what I remember from when it was announced last year.

The Grudge and the Grudge 2 are BOTH adaptations to a Japanese horror film and its sequels.

I believe that we can all agree that the two sequels to "The Matrix" should never have been made...
