Evangelion:
I hate anime I don't understand. Despite watching the series and movies and then reading on wiki...I still don't understand Evangelion...as such, I consider it to be terrible. I realize that those who got some meaning out of this story love this particular anime and recommend it highly..so don't take my recommendation to seriously.

Akira:
I've never been able to watch Akira in full...so that would be by worst anime by another measure...for all I know, it becomes amazing after the first hour or so, but I'll probably never know.

Garzey's Wing. Oh, sweet Jesus is that a bad, bad series. Unlike most of the other series mentioned on this thread, I can't imagine anyone liking it outside a "it's so bad it's kind of funny" way.

If this is the worst you've ever seen then you have never, EVER seen a legitimately bad anime.

All the ones you listed have some redeeming qualities and can be enjoy by some people.

Don't make the mistake of thinking i like any of the stuff you listed, but come on.

Try digging up some obscure low production value shows from the eighties like Devil Hunter Yohko or things of that kind.
Yeah, well, that's why this thread is called 'Worst anime you have ever watched' and not 'Worst anime ever'

There're people who didn't? I never read the manga but the anime makes absolutely no sense.

I know people are going to want to beat me for this, but I really did not like Code Geass. I could never decide if the show was trying to be silly or serious political treatise and from what I can tell it was trying to be both. The world never gelled with me. Also, from what little of it I remember it had the same problem I had with Death Note of coming up with overcomplicated plans.
And then there was Princess Princess. A show with a comedic concept that forgot to bring the jokes. Or a yaoi series that forgot to bring the yaoi. Or anything interesting at all.
Edit: I forgot Eureka Seven *shudders*

I've never really seen an outright awful anime before but I will say that the 4Kids versions of One Piece, YugiOh, Bleach and... well anything else is just terrible and needs to be destroyed.

Actually, just get rid of 4kids. They need to go away forever.

Naruto....I'm sorry, but it's basically the ninja equivalent of Twilight. Although to be fair, i'd gladly watch Naruto over twilight anyday but the point still stands. Also Lucky Star.

Anything with children saving the world.

I can only watch "realistic" anime like Black Lagoon and Golgo 13

The bold is the one i hate the most. I'll post more when I remember the rest.
But... why? ;~;

Seriously though, may I ask why you put Death Note and Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya on there?
I'm just curious why those since they're typically highly praised and they're the only one's I've seen on your list :p

I've never really seen an anime I would quantify as bad, but anyone who's seen those eight episodes of Haruhi Suzumiya probably wanted to kill themselves afterwards or perhaps during.

And Death Note just wasn't as good as everyone said it would be. Not bad, though.

It's already been said, but Death Note when M and N came in.

But I'd probably say High School of the Dead was the worst. Maybe the manga was better. All I know is that I could not care for the characters at all- whose personalities seemed to jump all over the place and go to laughable extremes at times. Not to mention characters that didn't seem necessary to the plot at all. And the constant sexual stuff in your face combined with the images of zombies eating people just made me throw up my hands once it was over and declare that I would not watch any other episodes if they were made.

Of the ones I've seen, and that isn't many, it's One Piece.
I got about 10 episodes in and I just couldn't take any more. It was just so annoying and boring.

Naruto, Dragon Ball, High School of the Dead. I'd say most of the anime I've seen have been utter shite.

Japan does a lot of things really well, narrative driven animation ain't one of them. However, having their own style of animation that's often only compared to other examples in the same genre kind of bullet-proofs them. Alright, maybe Akira was a decent anime when compared to the sea of garbage that is the anime industry, but compared to one of Pixars films? Not even close.

Then there are socially satirical shows like South Park, whereas anime actually goes a long way towards reinforcing Japan's social stigmas, like their contempt for women. Show me another culture whose media you consume where women are used exclusively as expositional tools or docking stations for cock and sexually aggressive tentacles.

It's 99.9% garbage, anime belongs in the C-list bargain bin category along with gore films and post-1990 parody movies.
