Trigun. However I will admit I'm not a huge anime fan, and MUCH more of a Western fan. But beyond completely distorting anything to do with that, it tries to follow the "classic" western genre, and not the new and improved sort that started in the 1960's.

Vash is completely a character nobody can get behind. He is 100% good, 100% of the time. Nobody can empathize with him, so he is not a character than can be believed or even followed truthfully. However, Wormwood was much more of a character that you could understand.

Lastly, I won't even mention that I did not find the show interesting really until about episode 18, it just seemed to bore me.

I'm sure my post is going to be buried fast among the 10 pages here, but after reading the first page (I'm not reading 10 pages about crap animes!) I just wanted to post this link.

http://yugiohtheabridgedseries.com/episodes/

And for my input on the thread's first page, FMA is AMAZING, One Piece is ok, but dragged out and plagued with filler, Inuyasha is shit if you watch it in English (but OK in Japanese, if you don't mind it not ending), and Pokemon doesn't count as an anime. I havn't watched much bad anime because I don't watch a lot of anime. Bad anime is pretty much anything that has been dubbed though. My brother's roommate was watching something in English, and just HEARING it pissed my brother off. Something to do with a main character chanting "Motivation!" repeatedly.

I gotta go with the extremely overrated Naruto.

It feels like a whole bunch of badly developed characters not acting like ninjas. The action is crappy the story is crappy and the animation is OK at best.
I liked the first season of Naruto(till the extremely long! bridge battle) they were actually trying to be real ninjas-even with the whole shadow copies and crap- but boy...when giant snakes/toads/slugs started to appear and the creators making the show more about Sasuke then the actual character...it went a bit to far...it was like seeing a downgraded version of DBZ but without the fun random characters, blowing planets powers and Goku & Piccolo learning to drive...:(

My choise goes for Ghost in the Machine(think thats the name), its not bad...I just couldnt get it.
The reason I despised that shoe (besides really truly feeling like dragon ball with ninja stars) was the sakura character.

Holy crap she was so mind numbingly annoying.

I suppose that's a better way of putting it, but most of the people i know who don't like it say something along the lines of "it makes no sense"
FLCL makes plenty of sense. It's just hard to make sense out of it.
I'm not an anime fan (at all honestly) but FLCL was very clever. I enjoyed it a great deal.

If anyone mentions Hellsing or Elfen Lied, I'm gonna crack some heads.
Crack me then.
Elfen Lied was a joke.
Where do you think all the jokes about big breasted pink haired cat like women with powers that make no sense and a story that could have been written by a kindergartner come from?

But for worst I'm going to have to say Hell Girl (Jigoku Shōjo Futakomori).
I like my anime to be long stories about amazing characters or short with excessively violent blood splatter.
Hell Girl has none of this.

Oh, and at least Full Metal was original.

EDIT: The Naruto Manga isn't bad. MORE PEOPLE READ MANGA!

What you talking about? He's someone everyone can get behind! He's a man who sticks to morals. Whats wrong with someone who's 100% good 100% of the time? There are people like that in this world, and the fact that you can't believe that shows how little faith in humanity you have.

The 100% good thing is the reason so many people hate Superman, but I have to ask:

What's wrong with being an all around good guy?

I have great faith in humanity, although I think I have much more of a real sense than you do (if you believe there are people out there like that). There simply just isn't anyone is who never succumbs to any temptation. I want a character that can exist in our world, and I can get behind and relate to. You cannot relate to Vash, or Superman, you can just idolize him.

As for Vash, there is nothing wrong with him, other than he certainly is a foreign character to anyone who is human =)

Also, honourable mention to FullMetalAlchemist. Overrated and uninteresting.
What part didn't you like?

For me the worst is the final epasiodes of Neon Genesis Evangelion, it was slow and went nowhere.
I completely agree. The ending made absolutly no sense and I doubt it's because of the dubbing (they must have been smoking when they were writing that scene/ episode). That said it's because of that one trait, Evangelion and other bad animes are so easy to make fun of lol ^__^

It would be easier to list the animes I did like. Aside from the classic, more mainstream ones like Akira and Ghost In The Shell, that is.

I really liked Afro Samurai, but you could put Sam Jackson's voice on Jar Jar Binks and I'd say he was the coolest character ever. I also really enjoyed Final Fantasy Unlimited and, as ashamed as I am to admit it, Golden Boy.

Oh, also, Prince of Tennis was pretty dope.

EDIT: where this post was going is that I hate anime. Aside from these above.

I don't know if it Avatar or Naruto... In contrast, my favorites are Code Geass and Ghost in the Shell.
Ahem.

Avatar is quite possibly the best anime I have ever watched.

Avatar is a fully American anime, and, despite that, quite well presented. It's roots in Inuit and Chinese culture are well researched and -supported. I get the impression of a world with a long memory and a longer mythology, a huge universe of cultures, wars, and history. It never distances itself from reality too much while maintaining the distance and suspension of disbelief necessary to allow "bending" of the elements, the key plot device. The characters are well developed and supported by emotions ranging from anger to skepticism to love. The plot keeps moving in the same direction the entire time, with a few well-timed twists and turns. No character that was memorable enough to think about is ever completely forgotten and most of the early ones are brought back at the end of the third season. It is a children's anime, not an adult's. There were a few episodes that I feel would have been immensely improved by the addition of some swearing and more mature content, but I believe the writers felt that the storyline made more sense if there was no swearing, and they may have been shooting for a TVY7 rating for a larger demographic. All in all, it was a great show, and the only Nick show that ever held my attention for longer than two days.

I am not saying that you are not entitled to your opinion, but I would like to hear why you feel that it was bad.

<gets off soapbox, puts soapbox away, and prepares to be inundated in vitriol and accusations of fanboyism>

What do mean nothing wrong with him? He's stupid, annoying, a coward, sometimes a bit greedy, and he drinks.

He is far from perfection, but he has an unbreakable faith in his belief that killing is wrong.

And after he broke his rule against killing, it completely destroyed him. And after he got over it, he still felt that what he did was wrong.

Believe it or not, there are people who wouldn't go against their moral for anything. Sure they're few and far between, but they exist.

You can even empathize with him when he does that too

it's not like he wanted to kill Legato, but it was either that or let Milly and Meryl get killed

That one gets me, but the one that gets me the most is

when Wolfwood dies, mostly because he was my favorite character from the show
