I thought Dragon Ball Z was pretty dire. I could feel my brain cells atrophying through lack of use during the two minutes or so that I watched that show before switching it off.
Well...depends on when you watch it...I mean, for me it's something I can watch now because I watched as a child, and can laugh at the abridged series because I get most of the in jokes...however, I'd probably hate if it was my first time seeing it today. I suppose that's a given seeing as it was aimed at the 8-12 section hehe ^^'purplegothchick said:I thought Dragon Ball Z was pretty dire. I'll just say this: Avatar is the greatest show centered around elemental powers as its theme ever. And more importantly, the characters are great and the plot grabs your interest. I also love the show to bits, best thing Nick ever did. Too bad they died to me the instant the series ended.RagnorakTres said:Ahem.FLSH_BNG said:I don't know if it Avatar or Naruto... In contrast, my favorites are Code Geass and Ghost in the Shell.
Avatar is quite possibly the best anime I have ever watched.
Avatar is a fully American anime, and, despite that, quite well presented. It's roots in Inuit and Chinese culture are well researched and -supported. I get the impression of a world with a long memory and a longer mythology, a huge universe of cultures, wars, and history. It never distances itself from reality too much while maintaining the distance and suspension of disbelief necessary to allow "bending" of the elements, the key plot device. The characters are well developed and supported by emotions ranging from anger to skepticism to love. The plot keeps moving in the same direction the entire time, with a few well-timed twists and turns. No character that was memorable enough to think about is ever completely forgotten and most of the early ones are brought back at the end of the third season. It is a children's anime, not an adult's. There were a few episodes that I feel would have been immensely improved by the addition of some swearing and more mature content, but I believe the writers felt that the storyline made more sense if there was no swearing, and they may have been shooting for a TVY7 rating for a larger demographic. All in all, it was a great show, and the only Nick show that ever held my attention for longer than two days.
I am not saying that you are not entitled to your opinion, but I would like to hear why you feel that it was bad.

Ah then you didnt watch FMA at all my friend, it was an extremely rare anime case of,Epic_Rocker said:Hmm... I'd have to say Full Metal Alchemist. I watched the first ten episodes in a row, and didn't understand a thing about what was going on. I didn't even bother to watch the English Dub because after the first ten in Japanese, I didn't want to go through them in English. It was shit.. xP
The dub is actually better? xD Seriously? That's surprising.Charli said:Ah then you didnt watch FMA at all my friend, it was an extremely rare anime case of,Epic_Rocker said:Hmm... Dub > Sub.
Its the very reason I'm not watching FMA: brotherhood anymore, it just doesn't compare to the dub voices at all. Attempt it again with Funimations' version and you'll suddenly realise why it gets so much attention past episode 7. If anyone has FMA on their list of 'worst anime ever' they just haven't watched enough anime. At all.
Possibly pretencious in the hands of someone emotionally dead and can't relate to the story in the least. But sorry I don't buy it, there is pages of anime worse off than FMA.
Any anime with solid story, solid animation and relatable characters should not be anywhere near the 'worst anime ever list'
And actually that includes Naruto... yeah you heard me, It's certainly a step up from Inuyasha I'll say that much. Naruto's animation quality fluctuates and that annoys me but theres been some parts of it I've been forced to watch and go 'hey, thats pretty cool'.
Sailor Moon, will never get my life back...
Dragonball and Dragonball GT... Z was a rare case of Soap Opera syndrome but you have to do a marathon of it or you'll just end up going "oh screw this, seriously". But I got throught it...
Digimon, at least pokemon was underliningly satirical about the concept in it's glory days. Even my mum used to sit and watch pokemon with me, did a quick watch of the episodes dubbed a few days ago for some nostalgia sake and wow I did not realize they had slipped so many genuinely funny intellgient jokes in there...
Aaaand then theres crap like Steel Angel Kurumi and all those Female/Male lolliekwowlookatmeandmahDrama. Highschool, nonsensical bullshit which should always sit underneath anime that actually tells a compelling story.
Then theres Yugioh Abriged. Which owns all anime, forever.
It was fine when they just had the original 150. But then they DOUBLED that shit like, OVERNIGHT and then pumped several more seasons of the show out (Isn't it still going? Perhaps a spinoff or three?) and, blagh.shwnbob said:Pokemon. I never saw why it was so good to everyone.
At least it gave us the abridged series, and isn't that the ultimate good?Singularly Datarific said:"Yu-Gi-Oh"

It's pretty stupid. I'd rather watch Pokémon. Besides those two, I've come across nothing but good animeSouplex said:Poke'mon
I never watched Naruto because it looked stupid so I have no idea how stupid it is.
