I've been playing a visual novel called "A Drug That Makes You Dream" which features a really extreme case of bullying on one of the characters. Fortunately I haven't seen too much bullying in my life, but there's a one occasion that stands out from primary school.

We had this real psycho guy who'd been expelled from multiple schools, and somehow ended up at my school of about 300 people. Anyway we had a Russian exchange student who was a really cool guy, but was constantly been belittled (that I knew of, but there must have been more) by this bully, as well as me to a lesser degree.

We were about to go have lunch when the bully and his mate came into the class for my friend. I didn't think too much of it at first, but my friend immediately picks up a chair and holds it like a weapon. I looked at him confused (I must of been about 12) and I saw terror in his face, the fear for his life terror. They just laughed and kept going. He was hysterical, and started swinging the chair at them. I have no doubt in my mind that if he had the chance, he would have killed this bully. A teacher walked past and saw this (it was a small school) and despite my protests, told this exchange student off really badly. The others left, my friend got pulled away to get talked to. HE left school because he couldn't take it anymore, and the bully got off unpunished. I never really grasped the situation till a few years later, and now I wish I had done more.

So I'm wondering how bad it is in other parts of the world.

Bullying in my school was never that bad. I mean, I have never been bullied because I was part of "those kids". Still, I in my experiences it was never really "nerds" that were picked on, more the kids who were a bit crazy/weird.

Guy sued 1m from the government because he was bullied from Kindergarten to year 7 then quit school. I was bullied also but I didn't resort to trying to sue the government and spending it on GAMES instead of a life.

The one where the girl killed herself. So sad and tragic. This guy came to my school and his name was Mr. Halligan. His son had committed suicide because he couldn't take the bullying anymore. The second one was on the computer and off and whats worse was that someone over the internet was telling Mr. Halliagan's son do it. Someone egged him on.
That's just messed up. I don't get what goes through the head of the guy who sent that. I really have no clue...

Yeah the exchange student was a bit weird, but that's why I liked him anyway. I haven't seen another bullying incident like that again, besides name calling.

I have had a gang of older lads corner me into the trees at our old middle school (now shut down for demolition) and threaten to rape me. One beat sharp branches across my legs to immobilise me. If it wasn't for a passing teacher who spotted one lad near the edge of the trees, i dread to think what else could have happened. When i told the teacher the main boy denied the assault or threat and was still aloud in the school and he still tormented me.

My life has had tonnes of bullying through the years. I have let them get to me but am finally fighting back. Many of the highschool bullies are pregnant or have had kids early... Proves already im slightly better.

I'm gonna assume he didn't succeed. I can understand trying to sue the bullies in question, but why the government? For 1 million? lol

i have been considering doing this due to the fact that no teacher in any of my schools ever helped me....sorry for the double post but it wasn't letting me add a quote to my above post :(

Wow...just wow. I can't even begin to imagine how you felt, sorry you had to go through that, but I'm glad they are slowly getting whats theirs.

I couldn't begin to write about all my experiences with bullies in school. I moved to the suburbs from a poor city area in middle school and was automatically disliked for being poor.

I will tell you this.

Two of my school bullies have died in the ten years since graduation. One in a motorcycle wreck and the other from a drug overdose. Do you know what I felt and still feel to this day?

Amusement. That's how much I hated them, and hence- how nasty it was.

sadly it succeeded. which is a load of bull. there's families who's kids have committed suicide from bullying so they pay out a guy who dropped out of school instead of trying only to buy a small house and immerse himself in games.

The worst i'd ever seen happened to this kid who came to my school a few years ago, he didnt speak fluent english but enough to just scrape by, anyway, he was already kind ofweird and i dont know how else to describe it but disturbed comes to mind. This one kid who was teh biggest dick i have ever met just starts bullying him, small stuff to start bu then goes on to stuff like; go kill yourself, gonna burn your house down, rape your sister, all that stuff. the bully got expelled and the other guy is seriously traumatised, he also left school

you know the saying; the bystander is just as bad as teh bully. yeah thats how i feel

Well...no, sorry, I can't remember. I have vague recollections of being the subject of much verbal abuse from a lot of people, and possibly minor physical abuse, but I learned to stop caring and just play some games. I remeber some anti-bullying programs held at the school (which struck me as amusing, as we all had to attend, even us nerdy kids who probably were as likely to bully as they were to smoke or have pre-teen sex. Which, incidently, were also covered by in-school programs.)

Do it, they deserve it for being lazy bastards who only add to all the problems in the world.

I was bullied a lot myself at school. I guess I was a good target since I was in the 'weird/crazy' group due to Aspergers Syndrome and ADHD.

I was lucky enough to get it dealt with most of the time since I was at a good school (I live in the UK, by the way, so the quality of teachers is often much higher than in America. They're a prime example of why a teachers union should NOT have so much control.) but even so, it was rough a lot of the time. Thankfully it tailed off a bit when A levels came around... but of course, douchebags usually don't change much, so it didn't get THAT much better.

I'm at University now, though, so bullying simply won't fly any more.

I got jumped on a bus when I was 19 by 7 or so 14ish year old boys (Im female btw).
I take it they took offense to my dress sense (old school metaller).
They had me on the floor of the top deck, kicking me. They proceeded to break 3 ribs, my arm, my wrist, crack my jaw, countless bruises and give me a concussion.
Only one person helped. A guy in a suit was the only one to give a shit enough. I now cannot get on buses and Im shit scared of young lads in large groups - stupid considering its been afew years since then.

There was a guy at my school who was very (very) weird, he took on personas and played them out for about a school year before changing (Ali G had to be the funniest). But he was totally committed to being someone he wasn't and answered all class questions like that, with the swearing and sexual references in Ali Gs case. (Mostly only gave that back story because I'm still impressed he kept each persona up for so long)

Anyway he got picked on a lot, held down and pissed on, beaten up loads, stuff stolen, taken the piss out of in every conversation I ever heard him in.
But he was strange and drew so much attention to himself, he must have just liked the attention. Pretty sure I'd prefer being lonely than being pissed on.

He is the walking case of worst bullying I've seen. (sort of, I've seen bullying on girls that was a lot harsher because they couldn't take it, and were kind of innocent/naive so the sexual jokes made at their expense just seemed more cruel)

I saw something like that happen once. I didn't just stand there and watch. There were at least 3 broken arms and several dislocations by the time I was done.

You. Don't. Hit. Girls.

Yeah I know what you mean with the bystander part, but it just seems like there is people out there who for whatever reason, go out of their way to hurt people (but in saying that, I realize that these bullies must have gone through torments of their own, its rare to find one that bullies without a reason. Still doesn't justify it however)

So he got 1M in compensation? That's ridiculous, he of all people should know that there is far worse cases than that, so why not donate it to a organization or charity that deals with Bullying? He could help so many more people...it irritates me that he's out for himself but that's life I guess.
