The Official North Korea Dictatorship website.
http://www.korea-dpr.com/
why it's hilarious:
The default text is english.
an early version did not have a Korean setting
There is a gift shop.
It sells T-Shirts simply entitled "Propaganda#1-13"
It also sell North Korean Public domain music on disks
The Q&A section is blatant lies.
the membership is called the Korean Friendship Association
and to join it costs 50 euros and you must validate your passport.

The following is a post I made on another forum a year ago with a list of horrible websites:

INDIA'S MINISTRY OF HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE WEBSITE
http://india.gov.in/outerwin.php?id=htt ? fw.nic.in/

You'd expect a government website to be in tip-top shape, until you see this one. Impossible to navigate and an eyesore, a miniaturized browser and a wonderful Indian flag animation on top. Plus, a nonsensical moving bar on top calls for eye donations for the blind.
It's like something out of The Simpsons.

OFFICIAL WEBSITE OF THE DEMOCRATIC PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF KOREA (NORTH KOREA)
http://www.korea-dpr.com

You can't really blame them, they're probably the only nation-state in the world to not have full access to the World Wide Web. Even so, for a government webpage, this is a disgrace. The flag of North Korea is stretched, and the style of the website looks as if it's been created by a 8 year old.

LING'S CARS
http://www.lingscars.com/

A site for a car dealership. Kinda reminds you of Las Vegas mixed with an Apple store, don't you think? Again, it's like something out of a TV show, flash animations and colors everywhere.
Also, the cars bounce when you hover over them.

HOME OF HEROES
http://www.homeofheroes.com/

This site was supposed to be dedicated to military heroes of America who earned the Medal of Honor because of their actions at war. I seriously believe that they deserve better than this.

FINLEY'S FUN CENTER
http://www.finleysfuncenter.com/

If kids can hallucinate, this is what he/she will see. Flashing stars, spinning birthday cakes and mailboxes, and bad flash animations. Oh yeah, you can click on "London" if you don't have epilepsy.

ACCEPT JESUS, FOREVER FORGIVEN
http://www.dokimos.org/ajff/

Cannabis is classified as an illegal drug in most countries, including the United States. It is classified as a hallucinogen, as it can give whoever uses it dangerous hallucinations. This website is a way to simulate the hallucinations caused by Cannabis legally, for free, and in front of your own computer. Again, NOT FOR PEOPLE WITH EPILEPSY.

MANIDOO
http://www.manidoo.com/

I have no idea what this is, must be some kind of Christian Theme Park or community. Whatever it is, they have a Fung Shui center alongside a Christian chapel and they have Bingo contests for free jewelry.

HAITI NEWS NETWORK
http://anselme.homestead.com/AFPHAITI.html

Okay, I seriously believe this is something out of the Simpsons episode "The Computer Wore Menace Shoes", because the entire page is filled with flash animations and moving widgets.
Google and Yahoo icons, a vibrating in-browser chatbox, spinning signs with the yellow words "Here" on them, and an up-to-date 2008 election map. There's too many to list.
I thought this was a website for Haiti News Network?

BELLA DE SOTO'S WEBSITE
http://www.belladesoto.us

This used to be a worse website, but the person behind this page probably found her common sense. This is what it used to look like:

Oh hey Space Jam movie site, how you doing these days? OH GOD IT'S AWFUL!

http://www2.warnerbros.com/spacejam/movie/jam.htm

I'm also going to nominate most of the Lakeside United Methodist Church sites (and that includes the one in which I was raised).

Ahaha, thank you for the reminder of good times. A friend of mine did a presentation in high school English class about Timecube. His presentation made no sense. His handouts made no sense. It ended with "Any questions" and every single person in the class putting up their hand (except me, who was in on the joke and laughing quietly in the back).

I'm frankly bewildered that that site is still up, because that was like 9 years ago.

EDIT: In case you were curious, he failed the assignment. Totally worth it.

Wow...me thinks the person responsible was reading the Necronomicon and the King in Yellow before they got to work on that pychadellic miasma of insanity.

outside internet example, smoky/clear indicator covers on cars, what drunken engineer thought that was a good idea, depending on how the light hits it and certain angles its sometimes damn impossible to see if the things are on or not

also whoever thought that 4wd's should be given monocoque frames and independent suspesnion was clearly not thinking at all, firstly 4wd's handle the way they do for a reason, making them handle more like cars is dangerous as they not supposed to be driven like regular cars, the monocoque frame also makes 4wd recoverys even more problematic due to risk of twisting the chassis, and no independent suspten+computer driving aid combo will successfully substitute the levle of travel and articulation provided by a live axle

haha, yeah this is the one I was thinking of. It's like it was preserved in a time capsule.

I don't understand how that havenworks website can possibly have such a design. A 3 year old could recognize how bad of a design that is and be able to outline a better one.

Oh, dear god. Don't get me started!

I'm working at the 'coalface' of engineering. The amount of times I've been handed stuff from careless architects and draftsmen that is LITERALLY physically impossible defies belief. Seriously!

No wonder I'm going bald!

It's caught my attention that some websites have utterly terrible design. A good example is the website which has so obviously stolen this ones URL, www.escapist.com. But for me, the grand prize absolutely must go to: havenworks.com. It is quite possibly the most garish, overcrowded, nauseating piece of web material you will ever witness. But has anyone else seen some spectacularly bad design choices? Even from outside the internet?
OP, I suggest you add a rule for posters here to show screencaps rather than giving links, usually bad websites = virus nests.

Timecube is terrifying but Truthism beats it ever so slightly.

http://truthism.com/
That would be an awesome plot for a video game, ideally set in the Deus Ex universe.

Youtube.

I don't know who the fuck they've got designing it, or why the prick feels they need to change everything that's simple and perfectly functional to messy and pants-on-head retarded, but I'm getting fucking sick of it.
