In recent memory, I'd put it at a tie between Fallout 3 and Elder Scrolls: Oblivion.

Fallout 3 - Oh, you didn't opt to kill yourself in the radiation well? WELL THEN YOU ARE A SELFISH ASSHOLE AND A TERRIBLE PERSON FOR NOT FOLLOWING IN YOUR FATHER'S FOOTSTEPS OF SELF-SACRIFICE. Oh, you have a buddy who is immune to radiation and can do the thing without consequence, everybody wins? NO YOU ARE STILL A SELFISH ASSHOLE AND TERRIBLE PERSON FOR NOT FOLLOWING IN YOUR FATHER'S FOOTSTEPS OF SELF-SACRIFICE, DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT WOULD BE COMPLETELY UNNECESSARY AND A WASTE OF LIFE. (P.S. You're a jerk)

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion - Oh man there sure is this big conflict coming up. Hey, thanks for running this escort quest to get this NPC to a temple. Wow, look at that big daedra lord. Bet that would make for an awesome boss fight! WELL TOO BAD. Sit back, junior. Captain NPC's got this shit, you don't even get to participate. That sure was a heroic chaperone job you did there, give yourself a pat on the back. (P.S. You're irrelevant.)
These two, but It didn't bother me since I wasn't involved in the story at all.
Also, Mass effect 2. The last boss was just plain stupid.

Kotor 2.... It's so bad I don't even want to explain, man... UGH.
I remember KOTOR 2, I did not under stand it.
The first was better, while in the second the left they ending so unpolished because of money issues or laziness.
In Obsidian's (the people who made KOTOR 2) defense, Lucas Arts forced them to ship an unfinished product so it would be in time for the holidays so a lot had to be cut.

I had a feeling it might had something to do with that. Obsidians don't make those kind of mistakes. Thanks

Another vote for Prince of Persia. Then the ending comes along and ruins the entire game. I kinda liked it too.

Going with Fallout 3 as well. Worst. Ending. Ever.

Lyons: One of us must enter and die via massive radiation poisoning to save the day.
Me: Well, let Fawkes do it - he's immune to radiation.
Fawkes: Not my destiny, bro.
Me: I saved your life. Multiple times. I single-handedly cleared a vault full of super mutants just to get to you. You are literally condemning me or Lyons to death for something that wouldn't take you more than five seconds to do, and would not harm you in any way whatsoever.
Fawkes: Your destiny, not mine.
Me: /quitgame

I SAVED YOU FROM GETTING EATEN ALIVE BY OTHER SUPER MUTANTS FAWKES, YOU UNGRATEFUL SOB.

In recent memory the ending of Fable 3 felt quite anti climactic. I mean they spend so much time setting up the scene for the big evil demonic black force to come and attack Albion and you are urged to get ready for the fight of your life.
But then when you finally get to it....

Nothing, you walk out of the castle and it's already there. You don't see it invade, you see no army fighting it and you don't go anywhere other than a few feet through the streets of Bowerstone. It then infects your mentor, you fight him, he dies and then I get told that the evil world consuming monster was defeated.
Seriously? That's all it took?
Let's not forget how afterwards everyone cheered me on for how great a leader I was and how I had saved the kingdom and was a greater leader than any kingdom could hope for.... yeah tell that to the multiple millions of innocent people who died because I failed to protect them

Yeah it was a bit of a drag... still there might be worse endings out there but this is the one that sticks out for me.

Actually Obsidian has kinda had a history of massively buggy products right off the bat. I heard Neverwinter Nights 2 had a bug where it would crash almost right in. Alpha Protocol had a mass amount of flaws that if corrected could have saved it. Then there is the sheer madness of Fallout NV right out the gate. Personally I forgive them though because I love their work regardless of bugs.

The ending is soooooooo bad

It's like everything you worked for is taken away from you because the main character is really really dumb
I liked that ending. I didn't like the girl...but I thought it was cool how they did it.

KotOR 2 is my choice as well. It was so just so anti-climatic, so disappointing. And that sorry excuse for an epilogue delivered by Kreia!... Ugh.

For anyone who played the tolerable plot and alright combat to the end, dodging past the save erase bugs and the general hardcore gameplay mechanics (permanant character deaths) and full size overworld map with awkward fast travel...

Ayden Chronicles: The First Mage

Image actually getting into a sub par game and enjoying yourself and the pretty good story for... for THAT ending.

Worth a look on google anyway but only those that played it know its devilish nature.

Borderlands (without DLS) After all the fucking around killing shit you end up
fighting a giant squid and after that you get a pissy reward and a common wooden sniper

But for the rest I really love Borderlands.

Condemned 2 would win because of how series-destroying it is in my mind.
RAAAAAAARGH!!! Juist reading the game's title had me foaming at my mouth. I still think the first game was a fantastic experience, the second one fucked absolutely everything, EVERYTHING up by explaining every fucking thing in the most boring, clichéed, overused and predictable way possible. What happened to subtility in games? Ghaaa... the rage is uncontrollable!!!

When compared to the first game, I'd regard it as almost criminal. Kotor 2's ending probably ranks as one of my worst; its so anticlimactic after the whole

fight on the Ravager with Nihlus and his hordes of loyal soldiers. Then the game goes "oh by the way that's not the end" and you have this whole crappy bit with the Trayus Academy which is basically room after room after room of the same enemies. The Sion penultimate fight is lame because he is so easy and then Traya has the ridiculously annoying floating lightsabers. At the end it just doesn't feel like its building up to anything, more its winding down.

I played this one before KOTOR (no idea why), so when I played the original, I was like "Why couldn't 2's ending have been this good?"

I never finished Dragon Age: Origins because the bit at the end was just being mired down by the whole political intrigue and repetitive "kill X million enemies to proceed" sections at the end, which I felt was a shame because the game had been really good (with the exception of the dream world bit) up until then.

MW2 takes the biscuit though with the "change the main villain" tactic near the end. *face-palm*
