What's the worst fan base out there in your opinion? Like, the worst group of fans, the most ill-mannered or defensive group. And it can be for anything.

The Inception fan base is pretty bad. The most vocal of members proclaim the move as the second coming and claim it got snubbed at the awards. I liked it, though I wasn't exactly amazed with it, and the second time through it was just okay. But any bad word against it and you're likely to get a comment that sounds like:

"Aww, did your little brain hurt watching the movie?" or "I guess you don't want to think when watching something." or
"Hurr durr, was the big movie too complex for you?"

A lot of the members must feel really freaking smart for understanding a complicated action movie, even though there was a solid hour of simply paying attention that would give any internet-savvy hipster a good idea of what was going on. But understanding it makes you some kind of intellectual. An artistic, cultured intellectual who likes watching action movies that "make you use your brain". Ugh.

Not all the fan base is bad, but just look at the comments for any negative review of this movie and you'll see where I'm coming from.
people actually think inception was complicated? it was soo straight forward. i am by no means saying that i am smart but i didnt see all the hype that inception fans were touting. if you ever meet another inception fanboy throw the movie memento at them

Twilight. I mean, Jay-zus.

Ok, I don't mind the Team Edward vs Team Jacob stuff, that's fairly ordinary, but the crazy obsessive types who go batshit insane at any hint of criticism.

[small]Though, there's a heartwarming story about a boy who stopped a girl being beat up by Twihards, and they are now a couple...if they were 10 years old, and the Twihards had machine guns, this would be the basis of half the low budget action movies ever made[/small]
I'm team Bus. I want Bella to die and Edward to go on a killing rampage then Jacob gets so emo his head explodes.

Ahhhhhhhh, so good.

jersey shore
CoD/PS3/halo (Games in general) fanboys

Every fan. Of Everything.

. . . . .ever.

I have not met one fan of one thing or another that I've actually not found annoying. Anything ranging from Batman fandom to Anime to Gaming. None of them.

The League of Legends community. Guess why I stopped playing.
I actually made a thread here about how bad the LoL community was a few months ago. Seriously, if I didn't play with IRL friends all the time I would have quit a long time ago.
I don't have any IRL friends playing LoL, and it was hard to make friends, so I went back to Heroes of Newerth. I can't believe I actually like this community better, seeing as it is horrid. But I guess that goes for the entire DotA genre.
I've always heard HoN has an even worse community. But yeah, you are totally right. For whatever reason the DoTA genre (if it can be called that at this point) has the most hostile player-base I have ever been a part of.
HoN had a worse community, until recently (or, the last five-six months), when LoL became insanely popular. Now it's a cesspool of bad manners, basically. I won't turn this into a LoL vs. HoN discussion, since I like both games, but in my experience, the LoL community is worse nowadays. Pretty sad, because it was alright when I started playing, when the game wasn't HUGE.

HoN Community will chew you out for being stupid, LoL will chew you out for any reason, including none.

I was once playing Shen and someone fucking bitched me out in all chat for not ulting him.
I was level 5.
He then proceeds to dictate it's due to my terrible farming skills. For those wondering; he was also level 5 and got raped while in their jungle taking their blue buff.

With HoN I've found if it's more based around chewing out the idiots from LoL. The people who pick a carry when team already has 2. The people who really don't understand that Tanks are a good to have, but not really a full-blown requirement. I found if I was getting yelled at in HoN; it's because I actually did fuck up; Not that my team did something stupid and wanted someone to blame.

I ended up quitting Shen and Rammus on the grounds that, even in decent ELO rankings, there are a lot of me-first morons who consider themselves all-stars.

Call of Duty... "OMG, GAYLO IS TEH SUX, BLOPS IS TEH 1337!!!1!1!!"
Twilight fangirls. Dear God, don't even get me started on them, since I'm RELATED TO ONE.
My Little Pony fans. I like the show too, I can understand the avatars (I mean, some of them are pretty funny.) But dear GOD, stop posting those. GOD. DAMNED. STUPID IMAGES. No one wants to see 1400x1400 of Apple Jack making a retarded face... NO ONE.

On a far fetched note. Furries, they do technically call themselves a "Fan Base". I'm not even going to go into that, seeing as I may get suspended for a hardly justifiable reason.

There are no good fandoms. Every fandom that I have ever come across has had its fair share of bigoted, arrogant, annoying pricks who act like they are god gift to mankind. Most of the time though, its only a small minority that acts this way giving the rest of the fandom a bad name. Its sad really.

With that being said: PC elitists/fanboys!

There is just no limit to how much I despise these people.

Yes, a PC can do so much more than just play games. Yes, a PC can handle better graphics. Yes, PC games are cheaper than console games. No, this does not give you the right to brag/and or act superior, whatsoever!

And no, a PC does not have superior controls. Why? Two words: Personal preference!

Now I do know that not all PC fans are like that. Im sure most PC gamers are just normal, decent, level headed people. Like I meantioned earlier, Its probably just a small minority ruining it for everyone. However the few who are actually like I just described. Go die in a fire! Or start learning to respect others opinion without acting like a prick.

And yes, I also hate console fanboys. Xbots, Sonies or Nintendrones. All equally bad! Elitism of any kind sucks.

*sigh* I like COD, so I guess I'm an idiot. I like Battlefield, so I'm a self-entitled dumbass. I like watching Bleach, so I'm wrong. I like Fallout so I'm a hypocrite. This has to be the most stereotypical classifying I've ever seen in an escapist forum... Come on, you people act as if that your opinion is right and everyone who opposes you is wrong. By saying that COD "fanboys" can't accept that COD has flaws and then saying Battlefield is "perfect", doesn't that make you anti-your-own-ideals? I don't get it. You people are the group that I hate the most.

I'd have to say CoD fans. They constantly preach that their game is the second coming of Jesus, and all others suck. It's very, veeeeeery annoying. I admit the CoD franchise is ok, and the gameplay is solid for the most part, but the fans just kill any chance of me loving the series.

First they came for the Cats,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a cat person.

Then they came for the Dogs,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a dog person.

Then they came for the Horses,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a horse person.

Then they came and expected to be treated like normal god damn people.
and no one took that seriously.

There are no players who fit your category more than some of the top LoL players like HotshotGG for example. You can't watch his stream for 30 seconds without hearing him rage and flame his teammates. I'm sad about what happened to the LoL community. It used to be pretty cool.
And I agree with your points on the HoN community. People are really harsh, and there are some who flame you regardless, but mostly they call out players on their mistakes. They go too far in that a lot of times too, and they are far from constructive, but I consider it more justified. Not saying it's GOOD, but more justified than what you described.

It's a kids game, stop trying to force people to play it like we're all 30 year olds with nothing better to do than beating other 30 year olds on a game for bloody 7 year olds.
You realize that nobody forces you to take part in the competitive aspect of the games, right?
I'd rather you'd post the whole message so people get the full context of the message. Anyway, it's annoying when I've met up at tournaments and people have berated six year olds because they haven't got an "elite" team. They're children and these guys literally scold and criticize them because they don't play like them.

And be honest with yourself, who really plays Pokemon JUST for catching and trading them all... well now anyway xD
I play Pokemon just to catch and trade. Occasionally I battle my friend, who then destroys me with his "elite team" that took him about 3 months of non-stop breeding to get. I still find it fun though.

On the topic of annoying fanbases, I would say the few people online that I have observed in a heated debate on console vs. PC or console vs. console. They all have their merits, and all have games I enjoy that I can't play on any of the others. Also the few (or many, I never really counted) that argue over Call of Duty or Battlefield without giving any rationale about why they prefer one over the other. I personally am a fan of Battlefield because the few times I played Call of Duty, the maps were really small, so I died frequently a little after I spawned (not due to spawn-camping), and the lack of players working as a team. Also because I have never had the enjoyment of running over someone with a tank in Call of Duty like I do in Battlefield.

Oh good God, too many to chose from. Fans are fine, fans who have to be pricks irritate me. Unfortunately most of my hobby horses have been covered, so let's see...

OOH! Richard Dawkins fans. Not because of any difference of opinion, but because they act like pretentious twits who seem to treat Dawkins as though he were their Pope all the while going on about how "they use their minds and free will". I just wish they really did.

Next on the list...PETA. Actually, make it any animal rights group. I'm all for treating animals respectfully, but if one more person tells me that enjoying a nice piece of veal in a forest mushroom cream sauce is evil and that I should be ashamed of myself, I'm going to twat them.

And last, and closest to my heart : university pseudo-communists. Communist ideal : everyone works to better the situation of all. Their ideal : other people should pay so that we can do what we like, and if you disagree you're a fascist(I WISH I were exaggerating). But they do bow down to the all mighty terrorist, murderer and brand name extraordinaire that is Che Guevera as though he were Jesus, the Prophet Mohammed, Abraham, Brahma and the Buddha all mixed into one.

HotshotGG is, in my opinion, the largest problem with LoL. There is no one who deserves a good right hook more.

What makes it worse is that using Elo for a team-game causes him to be high-as-a-kite in solo que, which to me, is a failing of the system.

For example, Westrice, who plays Akali in high tier games is a good example of someone who probably shouldn't be there. He doesn't do anything REALLY special with Akali, he picks up kills, snowballs. Kinda the standard Akali play.

But if I'm in ranked and someone says "I'm going to pick a Melee-AP champ, who should I pick?"

Sion, Leblanc, Kassadin are all FAR better choices bringing more to the team.

The system is broken and it gives a lot of players a bad example of what to play like.

Twilight: Obvious reasons

Followed by Nintendo fans. By that, I mean the rabid ones. You know, the ones who worship Miyamoto like he's the God-king video games. Every decision Nintendo makes is either gold or infallible. The ones who defend the shit out of the Wii and the DS (Personally, I like the DS, but not the 3DS... not yet, at least. Hate the Wii). I don't get them, honestly. Why buy a console that releases like, 2 or 3 good... well... decent games per year? I had a Wii at one point, and I just got bored with it... I don't get the appeal. Although, I love No More Heroes (who doesn't?)I only liked Wario Land Shake it, Metroid Prime 3, and Muramasa. Galaxy was only ok to me... and that's about it for games worth mentioning. I played Zelda at one point, and wasn't impressed, really.
