I have a storage platform in my room that hangs over my bed. My friend was sleeping over and when I wouldn't wake up, she climbed up the ladder with my cat and dropped her on my stomach. She (the cat) went ballistic and attacked me and the duvet.

Once woke up in a hospital bed, with my family around me looking totally terrified. I was so freaked out I immediately just tried to stand up and figure out what was going on. Luckily I was held down as I had my leg broken in 2 places. Weird that I didn't notice it for a good few moments. either the pain or the weird angle my foot was facing.

turns out I'd fallen out of bed and landed awkwardly on my leg, breaking it once then apparently sleep-stumbled out of my room only to fall down the stairs and knock myself unconscious, also breaking my leg in a different place.

to this day I dunno how I remember NOTHING of doing that. all I remember is waking up afterwards.
you hit your head or something???

alcohol?

idk just guessing

Hitting my head on my bunk. 5 Times.

Well, not exactly the worse, but one of the funniest.

I had to get up insanely early to drive to Cambridge every day for a week last year. I got in slightly early at the office so I'd have a kip, sitting in my chair and slumping over the desk.

Every one of the times I woke up after those I had sleep paralysis. Most terrifying thing ever. It's worse than having it after waking up in a bed, 'cus you're wrapped in your own arms and slumped helplessly over a desk.

When I was a feshmen at college i had a lady friend from conneticut come visit me. We ended up getting drunk and boning, however this i do not recall. I woke up the next morning alone in bed with a splitting head ache and a bloody lip/face, my boxers were missing, all my cocaine was gone with white powder on my desk, and i was just trying to figure out what the fucking hell went on the previous night.

I found the girl in one of my friends rooms and they filled me in on all the gory details, like how i got so drunk/high that i was walking around the dorm naked (after we had sex) and eventually went back to my room and passed out, smashing my face into the hard wood floor.

But that rude awakening the next morning, jesus christ.

Woke up to my girlfriend of five months breaking up with me. That woke me up awfully fast.

Uhh... Waking up with a spider on my chest, waking up with someone's face inches from mine, waking up in mid-air as i'm falling out of my bed, all of these are bad things. I hate waking up.

Oh, and waking up to my alarm, getting up to shut it off and tripping over my laptop on the floor and falling onto all my stuff. That hurt.

What are some of the worst things that have happened to you seconds after opening your eyes in the morning?
Well, it wasn't in the morning, more like 1-2pm, but I woke up in an ambulance once...

It was at a convention long ago in the middle of the night. I rolled over and fell onto the floor. I wasn't sleeping in the bed, it was the windowsill that had enough space for me to sleep on but ended up falling off it.

The morning after drinking about 6 shots of whiskey, about a quarter of a bottle of wine, and a quarter of a bottle of ale.

Not a good idea.

Getting up and thinking "Crap, I forgot my homework."

It's so much worse when it happens after you get out of school.

Okay, why the fuck is the Captcha doing ads now?

It wasn't quite waking up, but my little sister once tried to wake me up by nudging me. In my thoughtless slumber, I flicked my leg to tell her to shove off. I kicked her right in the mouth. Blood everywhere.

Also, a few weeks ago I woke up at 5pm, when my first ever lecture at university started at 10am. That wasn't quite as bad, but it wasn't good.

My dad woke me up at four to tell me me closest grandparent had passed away. It sucked. I was only just old enough to understand that her death meant I'd never see her again.

Also, far more recently. Fell asleep with my laptop on top of me and when I woke up I'd somehow trashed the screen. It looked like it'd been punctured though which was the strangest part.

Waking up in a wet sleeping bag halfway out of a tent after 2 days of walking across snowdonia (northern wales) with another day and the tallest height gain of the walk ahead of me. Fun fun.

Waking up late for college, jumping out of bed without realising one of my legs is still asleep and then getting head rush. Mega fall over. Then trying to nom down on some cereal, putting my elbow on the side of the bowl and spilling it everywhere. I went straight back to bed.

The most embarrasing though is waking up, in a house with low head clearance (I'm well over 6 foot) after a house party, early in the morning to go to work, smacking my head on a beam, cursing loudly and realising that the room is full of sleeping people. Some of them wake up throwing abuse, others laughing. Why? Because someone put half a bowl of creme brule on my face and upper torso. Smoooooth.

Woke up with a tiny white ball thing on my chest. I poked it and millions of aby spiders poured out. My scream is still known as the loudest sound ever recorded...
