I quite like a lot of them. Street Fighter is cool (mainly because it's sort of funny) but I also really like the RE films, Silent Hill, um... that's about it.
Let's face it, even though Raul Julia did not make Bison seem tough at all, he definitely made Bison a witty and awesomely sarcastic bastard.

I cant believe no one has said "Dead or Alive" yet.
I'm willing to bet that's because many of us didn't know there was such a movie. I, unfortunately, was made aware of this movie at a New Years party last year. So terrible, but so bouncy.

I thought MK, the first one, was how the movie games should be made. Watched it thinking it was going to be crap...I was hellah suprised. Then the second one ruined it for me, killing Johny Cage in the first 3 minutes...WOW!!

Thats a 5000$ camo, asshole!

I've noticed the name Doom come up a couple times already in this thread and I have to disagree with it's mention. It's true it's not a good movie, and it's not even a good Doom movie. But the fact of the matter it's not the worst video game based movie to be made.

There are certainly things like Street Fighter which warrant a mention.

However, many have spoken truly and said "Super Mario Bros". Seriously, that's quite possibly not just the worst video game movie ever, but also the worst movie ever made. It was only a loose adaptation of the source material, but the changes made didn't make it any more entertaining of a movie leaving Mario fans and the general public alike wondering what the heck they were looking at. If it was more accurate to the drug induced retardedness of the games (instead of the drug induced retardedness of the producers), it might of at least had some niche appeal, but as it stands the Super Mario Bros movie is pretty much painful to watch for anybody who had mental capacity beyond that of a 7 year old.

Super Mario Bros. I think people only remember liking it 'cause of the nostalgia of looking back on youth.

There has never been a good one, in fact, the only mediocre ones were the spiderman ones.
spiderman was a comic book....
Yes, and then there were movies that were based on those comic books, then there were games based on those movies.

Resident Evil: 2

That movie was just... gah! I didn't even think it was possible to have a truly bad movie featuring zombies. Even those gawdawful low budget zombie flicks were better.

Funny thing... The first and third RE movies weren't too bad. The first one was even pushing across the "good" line.

alone in the dark
the chroniclesof riddick (even thought the game was based on the movie)
max payne (he killed maybe 5 out of 100 people with pistols.not one while flying throught the air)
the hulk (the 2000 one and you can kinda consider it a game movie since the hulk appears in plenty of marvel games.)

Not all of them were terrible abominations against art, I mean I'd pay like a pound if I saw Mortal Kombat or Doom in a bargain bin, they're watchable I suppose, but none of them are exactly The Godfather. Not even the Godfather III.

Max Payne was pretty damn bad.
I was surprised it took so very long to make a movie about Max Payne to be honest, but I was not quite prepared for just how awful the adaptation would be.

While I can understand some of the plot changes to an extent, I am left wondering exactly why the narration was removed almost entirely. Afterall, it was through the narration that the entire plot of the game was delivered (with the minor exception of the story advances made by shooting people and/or things).

Even without the narration and the newer, simpler plot, it still seemed as though the movie could have been salvaged and yet I come away with the impression that everything that could be done to ruin it was tried. I've seen some of these "actors" in movies before and generally speaking I would assume based on past experience that they are capable of generating a believable character and realistic emotions, but apparently the entire cast decided to take a learning annex course in "How to Be a Ham" before the production began. Clearly they were inferior students as there was just enough overacting to ruin every key moment in the movie.

Rather than launch into an even longer rant about the dozen other bits that bugged me, I'll just close with a final thought. If you were intrepid enough to stick around after the credits rolled, the movie clearly sets itself up for a sequel. After being delivered the fateful news that there is an even grander villian to vanquish, Mark Wahlburg takes a violent swig of his beer and glares into the camera in what I can only assume was an expression of his actual emotion. Having made the first trainwreck of a film, if a second were to be made he would almost certainly be cast. The only question for me is, just how far does Max Payne have left to fall?

James Bond Goldeneye was based of Gold Finger, that was a sweet game.
Wait, what?

Goldeneye for the N64 was based off the film Goldeneye. And, while James Bond plots tend to kinda run together these days I'm fairly certain that they were entirely different movies (different in that you had different villians using different means to do, more or less the exact same thing but that's James Bond for you).
