I hope you learned your lesson.
Some really shitty games there. Shit, even pre-order knocks of a few bucks; you have no excuse when you could have known.

Metroid Other M. I went in expecting another great Metroid; I loved Super Metroid (never got to play the Original Meroid until recently and haven't got around to Metroid 2), I enjoyed Fusion, loved the Prime Trilogy, and played Hunters until my game broke (glitched right at the final boss battle). I expected more of the same with Metroid Other M completely unfazed by the fact that the game would retrograde in terms of controls and done by Team Ninja (the worst possible choice for a game whose main character is a strong independent female). After all people doubted Nintendo for making the Prime series a FPS but not only was it a good game series but showed the GameCube and Wii could in fact be a great platform for FPS titles despite lacking in powerful hardware.

So I picked up Metroid Other M at a midnight release and returned it a week later after being subjugated to clunky combat, slow paced action, a lack of exploring so common in the Metroid series (replaced simply with backtracking, which is not to be confused with actual exploration), badly voiced lines, plot holes on equipment (you mean all this time I had the Viara suit upgrade but chose not to use it until turdbrain upstairs said it was okay!?), and the icing on the cake was that my favorite genocidal/planetcidal (seriously she's got a higher kill count than the Death Star) badass bounty hunter had become a ditzy shithead who has panic attacks about some cyborg dragon she usually dispatches with relative ease at least once EVERY DAMN MISSION.

Left 4 Dead on Xbox360. 60$ for 4 guns + 3 upgrades, 5 enemy types and 4 levels that doesn't even last 1 hour each. The zombies didn't stay on the floor, and there was no 4 players split screen. Valve fanboys might have appreciated wasting their money, but I am not one of them.

They did the impossible, make a bad and shallow game with a concept such as "kill zombies with friends".
I'd say the worst thing was the other people. This is a sweeping generalisation, but when I played L4D pubs everybody at least tried to finish the level. The first 4 games I got on in the L4d 360 someone either tried to teamkill everyone, or deliberately burn all the medkits or get biled etc. etc

Alien Versus Predator (2010)

I played the previous one and thought that while it wasn't phenomenal it still did things right, so a graphical upgrade and a smoothening of the rough edges was all that was needed. Sure it wouldn't be great but the last game was alright and so would this one I thought.

They ruined the controls, they ruined the flow of the game, and the characters may as well have been stick figures with speechbubbles rather than voiced dialogue for all they're worth. Plot and setups didn't make a lick of sense either, and the game that was bundled with the $60 arse was regionally locked to the US. :D

Call of Duty Black Ops. Not so say I didn't have some fun with it, but I don't usually buy games at 50 Euro so that's the best I can do.

Edit: OR THE WORST HERP DERP

Far Cry 2. Not a terrible game, plenty of shooting and guns, but not worth $60. Only bought one game at full price after that.

Don't get me wrong, I love Bayonetta, it's just not $60 bucks worth of loving. I kinda wish I had waited sometimes.

My mom bought me DJ Hero for around $130 or so...I am so sorry about that. :/

I paid full price for it too. It was made even worse because this fucking thing was a torture to play through, then it's badness was the only thing that occupied my mind for weeks. Hell, I had a dream recently staring samus being mentally tortured. After remembering some of the details, I figured out that it was a metaphor for what they did to her character.

So yeah, I paid $70 (I'm in canada) for a shitty game, a few weeks mental torture and a fear in the back of my mind that I am going insane. Thanks Sakamoto.

CoD: Blacks Ops

Urgh.. I didn't expect the singleplayer campaign to be long, but I expected the short time that it lasted to be filled with fun things.

I was wrong, it was just a boring, largely corridor-ish shooter with some occasional somewhat fun parts and a lot of frustrating parts.

The multiplayer was just not in my taste.

Two World 2, can't read shit on a regular def screen. Controls are beyond bad. Graphics are crap-tacular. Then I returned the game and got Marvel Versus Capcom 3. Best trade I've ever done.
I wanted to say Two Worlds (the first) for the same reasons plus a very f'ed up gameplay and story.

The worst game I payed full price for? Let's see, the only recent games I payed full price for are Mafia II, Mass Effect 2, Supreme Commander 2, Dragon Age: Origins, Fallout NV, and Civilization 5. Everything else was less expensive because I did not buy it at launch... I think those are all really fun games, so none? I tend to research games before I buy them because I have a small budget (although that cost me $300 over the past few years, so not a small budget after all...). I look for sales a lot too (Orange Box for $10 at Target, best deal ever).

CoD Back ops
This game had a decent campaign and an enjoyable zombie mode
but, the core of the game, the multiplayer was just completely unenjoyable for me
I am used to playing objective based shooter, with dynamic maps like MAG and BFBC2
THis made BO multiplayer completely unenjoyable for me
Fortunately, gamestop was having a 50% extra trade in week, so i got 40$ back and re-bought BFBC2

Probably FF13. I've only bought 3 games I can remember for $60. Spent $70 on New Vegas and that was a huge let down.
