I'd love to say that World of Warcraft was the worst game I ever played, but that would be loathing, not well-rounded judgment. The worst game I ever played would probably be Xcom: Apocalypse.
Xcom: Apocalypse? Phew... I thought that was just me. I remember reading an absolutely sterling review of it at around the time of it's release (Can't for the life of me remember what magazine, sadly) and after i got it I was thinking; "..the Hell? This is terrible!!"

Apologies for the double-post. Was going to expand on master of Orion III and posted it too early. In hindsight I don't feel I have to expand on why Master III was awful. I'd also be here all day...

Universal Soldier. It's. So. Bad.
I am ashamed to know what you're talking about. My friend picked it up out of a bargain bin...

It wouldn't run on his computer so we tried it on mine.

Lord of the Rings:Fellowship of the Ring for the PS2. The world was fun to see come to life, but the gameplay made my brain hurt. And sneaking out of the shire was one of the most terrible moments in game history.....and not cannon!
Seconded. Never made it past the ringwraith. Word is canon btw. And it ain't canon. Therefor an annoyingly hard level, was actually pointless.

E.T. the Extra Terresrtial

Lets get one thing straight, you might think that one shouldn't care about a game that was made probably before most people making this thread were actually alive this just shows its level of hideousness. You get plopped into the middle of a screen without any clue as to the point or purpos. Now in most Atari games its just a test to see how high of a score you can get, E.T. however says screw that lets put an arbitray number at the bottom of the screen and thats your, life seriously thats it. Meanwhile people (and being an Atari game I use the term loosely) are trying to capture you as you skillfully try to evade them. However there is a major flaw in that all other characters are faster than you plus for no aparent reason you fall into holes, this creates the most frusterating part of the entire game. After falling into a hole you lose som I think 500 points and are forced to try and escape up the sides the problem is that if you choose the wrong side you'll just end up back in the hole as the sprite for the hole is twice as long as you are. And then when your points are up thats it the game ends. There is a reason Atari threw all the remaining E.T. cartriges in a landfill and then paid $2 million dollars to have the landfill cemented over after some kids found the cartiges the game was that bad!

Dark Angel, although, come to think of it, Angel of Darkness was pretty bad too. I still think Dark Angel for the ps2 was the pits.

i know that this has probably been done before but im too lazy to search for it right now.

Whats the worst game youve ever played and for what reasons made it the worse?

for me it was Legendary. i thought that game was going to be good, the concept was pretty cool and the trailers and vidocs were pretty cool, but then again they only showed the highlights that happened in the beginning when the creatures were coming into the modern world. but what made it a bad gaming experience for me was the way it felt. i felt like i had minimal control over my guy even though it was a fps. i was running through the streets while gryphons were grabbing cars and people alike, think that it was kinda cool and that it might get better. as time went on and i was getting an achievement every thirty seconds i found out that this was going to get dull real fast. then the thing that made me switch over to fallout was when the people that get dropped into the streets and start shooting at you could take four clips to the chest while i had to hit one of the creatures in the head twice and they fell over dead. I didnt even make it pas the first level.
What!? This is an absolute mess. Always start a new sentence with a capital letter! It's not hard, you hold down the shift key while pressing the desired key on your keyboard.

You're suggesting that the game is too easy. Try the following:

Settings>Difficulty>Hard>Save.

Then it shouldn't be too easy. I actually thought the Minotaur was quite tough in the demo. At least they were trying something different from the usual FPS crap.

While I'm sure legendary isn't great you obviously have no idea about the actual worst games ever.

I think many people here have sadly played that pile of crap. I forgot all about that one.

I'm quite suprised this gem hasn't shone through yet.

Street Fighter: The Movie

Jeeping fuck, why the hell did Capcom give a SF game to an outside developer that only made trackball golf and bowling games?
Given the obvious lack of involvement they had with the movie, I'm sure they just figured it wasn't worth saving in the first place and that it would just bolster how good THEIR version of the game was.

Aliens on the PS1 was pretty bad.

Fifa64 was awful.

Rise of the Robots was terrible.

Lord of the Rings Fellowship was awful.

Animal Crossing is terrible.

Sid Meir's Pirates on the PSP is horrendous.

A Vampyre story is boring and really not funny AT ALL.

The Bourne Conspiracy was bad.

Perfect Dark Zero was crap.

Futurama was bad.

Beautiful Katamari was bad.

Oblivion was boring.

Brain Training was awful.

Twilight Princess was dull.

A load more are crap too, I tend not to buy bad games but you can't always avoid it, often ones people recommend to you can be awful from your perspective. I could comment on the many demos of games that were bad. Not to mention the bad games I played when I worked in QA.

p.s. Hitler was probably involed with making it so torturous.
oh you didn't already know? when you look at the back of the case, it says that it was published in Auschwitz.

Turning Point: Fall of Liberty

The game is so severly broken on so many levels I just grasp at the fact that the developers allowed the game to be shipped at all.
Dull, repeatative, stupid, broken in every possible level and extremely dumbed-down.

The excuses [http://ve3d.ign.com/articles/news/37226/Turning-Point-Fall-of-Liberty-wasnt-meant-for-the-core-gamer] from the developers that followed after it's initial release are hilarious.
