The kids who clearly are not the age they are supposed to be when playing games like CoD and Halo, then get all upset when you cuss right back at them. A buddy of mine encountered just that, some 10 year old was being a twat and he cussed him out. Then the kids mom got on and was saying "he's only 10 why are you being so mean" and blah blah blah, to which he explained why the twat shouldn't be playing a game that's meant for people of the age of 18 or above
This. So much this. If I'm playing an 18+ rated game I expect to be able to use 18+ rated language. Game ratings are there for a reason, and I shouldn't have to censor my behaviour because someone somewhere decided that an 18+ rated game would be perfect for little Timmy's 10th birthday. In that particular situation the fault, if any, does not lie at my door.
I usually point out that it is illegal for them to have bought the game. If they respond with something like "not in my country" I say something like that is why you are all so fat.
That'd probably do it. I just use the Mute Player option - it doesn't stop them hearing me, but it stops me having to listen to them complaining.

I really don't think you need to think about how to play as any of those characters. They play as them because they know they're easily exploitable, can stop a number of character in their tracks because they can just keep pressing a couple of buttons over and over and over... and over... and over.

You see what I'm getting at? If you're making a team that has been shown to be easily exploitable just for the sole purpose of winning.

But again, when they lose, they claim that there is everything wrong with the game everything to do with it but not themselves not having the better team/tactics.
No man, if you do well by not thinking, you can do 50 times better if you do think. If you face players who do think, you'll get crushed indefinitely until you start thinking.

MvC3 is actually a rushdown heavy game, zoning/spam is remarkably weak by comparison since any character can be owned in just one combo. Wolverine alone crushes that spammy team you mention if his user knows how to get in and the other guy doesn't know how to do anything besides spamming drones and missiles.
Oh yeah, it's undeniable that there are characters who can beat people who spam this team but it still doesn't make these gamers who use the spam teams any better. They still use teams that have been called out by the community as being some of the worst ones to go up against because their only goal is the win. Not to have fun or anything but just they to claim that they are the best.

An example of the same type of gamer on a different game would be the One Man Army spammers on Call of Duty: MW2. If you don't know, it's when using a perk called One Man Army, the player will fire both of their grenade launchers into the air (usually on the CTF type matches), take out the other team members, use the perk that allows them to switch to any class they wish and switch back to the same one. They'd build up kill streaks and eventually (usually the most likely perk they build up to) get to use a tactical nuke and win the match.

Again, these players will say they have skill when all they're doing is using a perk that has had the misfortune to be exploited so people can just win matches with ease because they fire grenades into one place where they knew people would be until they go a insta-win weapon. They'll brag about it but as soon as somebody kills them, they'll start throwing claims at them about how the other "hard-scoped" or "camped".

Essentially, these are the people who can't admit defeat and will go to lengths to make it certain that they will win because they want to be "the best", even if the way that they win is something that people who play think is a cheap way to do so.

My last roommate. All the signs of a classic "weeaboo" (colossal anime fan who can't understand either Japanese OR personal hygiene. Go look it up), plus he basically reduced all of our games to a simple statistics competition. That ruined Gears of War 3 for me. His favorite was who had the best K/D ratio in Gears 3, especially considering he was fighting bots on casual with his girlfriend (don't ask, I don't know how she got herself into that one).

He's a pretty decent Sniper, I'll give him that. But anything else involves hunting down the most available melee weapon (Lancer, Gravity Hammer, the B button) and rushing into the enemy recklessly for a kill. His driving's even worse; his instinct is to get into the Warthog driver seat and splatter everything in sight, no matter how many players are in the 'hog with him. We've died plenty of times in those situations.

Whatever, I've moved out now. Got a place all to myself. I still burn voodoo dolls of his visage every weekend though. Maybe not exactly what you were looking for in this forum, but I answered the question, ok?

Anyone under the age of 12 playing any Call of Duty game. I have been called a fag so many times.
So many.
Half of the little bastards probably don't know what it even means the idiots.
But that's the price you pay for playing online.

If a team doesn't have Phoenix, it's not broken, really, you should be able to beat them. It's not just with some chars, I was just giving you an example off of the top of my head. My Zero Viper Haggar team crushes spam just as easily.

It's not the same with FPSs since in fighters your foe has a lot more control over what you can and can't do. You can't spam if your foe punishes you every single time, then goes Xfactor to kill your spammy assist and then finishes the combo with a big super that ends up in you being left with just a single characer.

The community has declared spamming/zonining as something weaker compared to rushdown. I don't know where you get your info on it or if you're talking about Ultimate or w/e but just check last EVO or something. Try and find me one spammy Doom/Sent team who managed to go up. None of them, the one Doom there was actually pretty good at rushdown with his stomp moves and actually did combos. Those people are playing for money, they're the ones who truly are only in it for wins and not fun...and who did they use? Phoenix with Tron assists and Wesker/Wolvy to build meter, if you just care for wins in a game so heavy on rushdown those are who you pick.

The spammers don't care for wins, they care for EASY wins. If a win entails actual weeks of training they won't do it, even if their victory is ensured, thus they don't do everything only to win, they do what they can to effortlessly win and as soon as they hit the wall they droop the game and go into another game they can scrub their way into below-mediocrity.

Some British guy was bitching out my friend for killing him a large number of times in an FPS.

His primary insult was directed towards my friend's gamer-score or whatever on Xbox. Considering we primarily play PC my friend ignored most of it, but when he started to insult us because we were Canadian..

.. I just don't understand some people.
As an Englishman, let me just apologize for him. We try to keep those people in the tourist-trap cities that withered and died.

OT: CoD teens, and people who blast music through their xbox headset. Also, griefers on Minecraft.

Hi slighty off topic but I recently just downloaded league of legends and have only played bots are players really that bad what do they do

OT: personally I find that 99% of the time people with their mics in on XBL on games like halo or cod just either spam things into their mics like songs or insult players for various reasons but I cant think of any specific examples

Last year I got my first ever gaming headset and decide to give it a go on Red Dead Redemption. I get invited into a random posse, a bunch of British guys who are storming a gang hideout. Alright. Cool. But then I apparently stole a kill from the posse leader. BTW, we were sniping enemies from a distance, there's no way to tell who is targeting what. I say something in retaliation, and then he kicks me out because I'm American. That's right:

A racist British guy kicked me out of his Red Dead Redemption posse. The game set in the American Old West and has American voice actors. Just...what? I don't even...what? The game is about as American as you can get without getting jingoistic. If you hate American's so much, then why the fuck are you playing Red Dead Redemption? I told him this, only to recieve a bullet to the head. Biggest WTF moment I've ever had online.

To be fair, we did give you all that land :/

JK! It's sad but seeing as many American gamers doing the same sort of thing because I'm English. It isn't right on either side. It's xenophobic.

Yeah, I probably should have worded my posts better. People who go for easy wins for the sake of winning but then will ***** and moan when the other team/person/people win and blame it on everything but the other people being better than them.

I don't like the people who take winning more seriously than enjoying the game in TF2. Yeah I know we should push the cart, but let's get sentries set up by their spawn while we have a heavy/medic camping it. I have no problems with new people or F2P if they aren't spamming their mics or are clearly not interested in helping a team.

Well, I'm sure everyone has heard of this asshole [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/profiles/view] by now. A disgrace to gamers everywhere...
....huh? What did I do? I'm confused. :(

OT: I avoid talking on xboxlive entirely just because I don't feel like listening to people talk crap. But probably most of the League of Legends community is the worst. Although the last few matches I played nobody said anything, which I suppose is an improvement over crucifying someone over making a mistake or not being very good.

EDIT: well crap. I've been had!

I don't really play any online games, since I hardly trust my internet connection. The worst gamer I have come across, however, is my classmate. He is antipathetic, curses a lot, ignorant of the reality of war, and has little care for human life.

At least I don't hear him on the mic...

other guy: f**k off you cheating little b***h you are hacking!!!!!
me: i am not hacking

other guy: right now i have filed a complaint for offensive language my dad works for microsoft you will now be banned for life

I'll break them into sub-groups

The 12 year old-- Literal 12 year old, whose ass your are kicking, then he starts screaming up a storm on how your a rapist diddler.

The Ego-Maniac -- Guy in his late 20's early 30's who claims he's God's gift to the gaming world and women, most likely your mother...He'll blab on and on about fucking your mom. (Hint: Your still at home on a Friday night playing Halo...Deluded moron)

The Hopping Mad Loser/Winner -- Either way win or lose they are still pissed. And will school their teammates and tell them how shit they are, then tell the opposing team they suck ass as well.

The Dramatic Hick -- The idiot who uses that fake Deep South Drawl, and inserts hee-uck at the end of every sentence.

Player Extraordinaire -- Ego-Maniac with talent, but still has to teabag every kill.
