Borrowed my old Commodore 64 to a friend, who then broke it and messed up the best game tape for it (that single tape had like 50 GREAT games on it, if I recall correctly):/

This is a toughie, because it combines one of the worst decisions with one of the best...

I sold my Genesis with a ton of games and accessories for $32 to go towards an N64. Buying an N64 was one of my best gaming decisions, but I still miss the Genesis...

I bought a dreamcast VERY close to the end of its life when I didn't have the money, based on the fact that I could borrow games from my friend. It was a massive mistake, I sold it 5 months later.

Choosing Hidden and Dangerous over Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines. I bought the "H&D is Commandos in 3D and therefor better" argument, even though I enjoyed the demo of Commandos immensely. H&D wasn't really really bad, but the millions of game breaking bugs that never got fixed kinda dampened the experience. The freeware edition of H&D is still riddled with bugs...

I was a total fan of the old-school game Populous... an absolutely awsome "god" simulator. When Molineux announced B&W he repeattedly touted it as the next-gen Populous... I definitely fell for the marketting only to end up playing this horrible mess...

Then Molineux did Fable... and again hyped himself up to excessiveness before release only to be disappointed with the product yet again...

I'm sorry, but Molineux is dead to me. DEAD TO ME!! I HAVE NO SON!
Have you seen Fable 2 though, looks great

Lending my original copy of "Planescape: Torment" to a friend. He scratched CD1 up. -cries-

He made up for it, in a way. Walmart had a 2 disc economy release of it paird up with another RPG in a Jewel Box for 20 bucks that he bought for me in an effort to beg forgiveness. I granted it.

I got that version, though on one section (the bit with curst prison) that kept asking me to insert disc 3. I actually cried at that point!

My personal regret was lending my copy of return fire for the PS, and not getting it back (friend moved out of the country). I have scouted bargain bins for it in vain for about 6 years now.

I was trying to get "little rocket man" on the orange box. I got the achievement for running of zombies, then putting on a clinic, I was on a roll. Then I put the gnome on a table in the garage right before the auto guns. When I got back I notice the table and gnome were gone, the car now residing in their place.

Paying for Turok Evolution. Man, I am still pissed about that one.

Buying:

Viva Pinata-Apparently very good...for small children that is

Psychonauts-Heard lots of good things about it, but really could not get into it, or see why it's so funny

Bioshock-Again, really couldnt get into it, didnt really give a crap about the story, combat not really fun, atmosphere at times was very good, but not continuously scary

Letting my cousin nap in my bedroom full of my then-new N64 and accompanying games. On her day off from rehab.

Buying Half-life 2.

Two months later the Orange Box came out. Now I keep fairly up to date on gaming news.

Here's the kicker, my girlfriend wants me to play WoW with her now >.<.
The things we do for love? lol I'm in the same boat. My boyfriend has decided leave Cities (where we both play) and go back to WoW and wants me to join. That's a big fat "no" from me.
Yeah, it's like "uhhhh, you want me to go play a game that I utterly despise?... Good luck there >.<" Luckily, she's not very "big" into it, just plays it once in a while. Otherwise there would be a problem :p

Very rarely do I make a mistake when it comes to the gaming industry. I tend to have a similar view as Yahtzee, except I don't need to play the game to figure out its flaws.
Although, some games, it's easily ignored because of the sheer fun overshadowing it.

But I guess... The last time I remember making a gaming mistake...
I guess wasting $20 on Land of the Dead: Road to Fiddler's Green. (I don't know WHAT I was thinking.)
Could've spent it on something better, like gas, or fast food.
