Worst Graphics in a Current-Gen Game

According to GiantBomb the Iron Man 2 game looks absolutely effing terrible. They did a forty minute look of the game; the mountains are awful-looking and the textures in cutscenes take a couple of seconds to load and change to the right resolution. No, really. It's painful to watch.

Makes me feel like playing a PS2 game. Actually, IMO Ape Escape has better graphics than Iron Man 2.

This! Ten thousand times this! That game was hideous!
They released a bunch of patches within the expansions that were suppose to fix that, but they never did, and to top it all off, they are making a second one.
I had it on the 360 so patches don't help graphics that much and yes I was aware of the second one (unfortunately)

The Conduit is the worst I've seen thus far, kinda makes me sad that it even was released with graphics that shameful.
i agree
I agree also, i think it was rather annoying that they said it had something special to make it look better ... come on was that made up on the day the creators were like "how else can we screw with the people that are gonna buy this?"
"i got" one creator said, who i will name michael (bay) "let's say that we'll add a special new technology that will make this game not look like a ps1 game that was put in an oven, then we'll hype it up as we usually do to make as much money as we can before they realise it's nothing but a (metaphor) used branston pickle jar filled with bile and shit. FUCK THEM. (this creator also did this to the transformers movies)
You just compared a game that looks completely shitty with Transformers. Really? Transformers looks fucking awesome, okay? Almost every movie Michael Bay makes looks really good, but just because you don't like him as a director there's no need to spew bile when it comes to a subject he's good at.

Hey, I don't like him either, but at least find a good reason to hate him.

Hmmm, well I'd personally look towards a lot of the games that were originally being developed for last gen hardware and then ported to the new system to boost sales.

I believe this was the case of "Deadly Premonition" a game I've been mentioning quite a bit recently. Really it's an awesome game though it has no right to be. The graphics are more or less mid-range PS-2 era, though they benefit from a pretty decent art direction. Some of the minor bits like a few of the trees are especially bad though.

This being a bit part of why the game is going for $20 instead of full price, but still when you look at it from the perspective of what the current hardware can do, it's pretty bad. But then oddly enough a lot of the voice acting is absolutly awesome.

That said, if you look at some of the XBL "Indie Games" your going to see far, far worse things developed with this level of hardware involved... I guess they count given that money is charged for them. This includes a roguelike called "Dungeon Adventure" (I think) which I bought being a fan of Roguelikes... pretty much a port of Nethack. :p

You think DA:O was pushed aside? What if BioWare actually thought hard about what made games good and realised it wasn't the graphics?

Quick note: Nintendo has sold more Wiis than the 360 and the PS3 combined. Graphics are not necessary.

Bad Company games, there's not enough dust.
I totally agree on this, esp in Sangre Del Toro I was all "alright good, good, oh shit! I can see a large enemy baracade! where the fuck did my dust go?!?"

So then, why does Mass Effect 2 have stellar graphics? The graphics are just one symptom, but there are a number of things that make it seem Bioware cared more about ME2.

And yes, I know, I own a Wii. And I'm sure that everone who bought a Wii bought it for stellar titles such as Madworld and No More Heroes, and certainly not mini game collections.

nothing comes to mind...

oh wait, well after watching Iron Man 2, me and two of my friends joked about renting the game version for a spin (one is a Marvel fan, the other technically a DC fan but likes graphic novels in general)... ya I saw the graphics online and was like hmmm wow this is...purely awful

I loved Two Worlds!
It was so awful, it was excellent!
Stop blaspheming!

I'd have to say Oblivion or Mirror's Edge. So...much...unnecessary...bloom lighting.

Mega Man 9 and 10. They're old school 8-bit style, and that's the way they should be.
and therefore shouldn't count

instead of bad graphics, go for worst look.

err..

i was forced to play borderlands with ALL the graphics down... though really that shouldnt count either.

From what I've played I would say Prototype. Underneath a few nice little effects and high resolution, it could easily pass as a PS2 game. The models and the textures are baaad bad bad.

I would say Lugaru HD since choosing the title "HD" is stretching it a bit, but it is an indie game and a damn fine one at that.
