You think DA:O was pushed aside? What if BioWare actually thought hard about what made games good and realised it wasn't the graphics?

Quick note: Nintendo has sold more Wiis than the 360 and the PS3 combined. Graphics are not necessary.
So then, why does Mass Effect 2 have stellar graphics? The graphics are just one symptom, but there are a number of things that make it seem Bioware cared more about ME2.
I don't understand. Wht's the problem with Dragon Age's graphics? Where's the massive difference between Mass Effect and DA:O?

The only real difference I can think of is that the (literally speaking) celestial graphics coming from Mass Effect are more noticeable than the magic effects on DA:O.

I AM playing it on the PC on max graphics, but it's not exactly a game to make my pc chug under the strain, and the detailing on it is exquisite. The bloodspatters, spell animations and models in base are all very good. If you think they're not, play the game from the same PoV as Mass Effect, and then when you complain you can't what's going on, remember they're not the same game.

Well, I'm playing on the Xbox 360, so that's probably why. I've heard the PC graphics are better, but on the 360 they're pretty terrible.

Not sure about this, but Gothic 3, maybe?

The characters looked like something from the PS1 era, but the landscapes, oh the beauty of those landscapes. It just made the character appearance even more jarring.

Prototype looked rather bad. But then again, I'm glad it did, because if it had top-notch graphics the frame-rate would've been horrible. Shitloads of little people running and screaming, explosions and gunfire, all rendered smoothly while you're racing through the streets. Uber-graphics aren't everything y'know.

Bad Company games, there's not enough dust.
Dust is fantastic, it provides some well-needed cover at times to avoid sniper fire. Plus it's awesome to see like 3 tanks come out of a dust cloud at once.

The Conduit is the worst I've seen thus far, kinda makes me sad that it even was released with graphics that shameful.
I haven't played it, but from what I've seen the graphics are fine. Most of the rest of it looks bad, closed in linier corridors being the worst thing I would see.

I think we're all forgetting early releases before developers knew what the machines could do. For your consideration: Bullet Witch and Vampire Rain. These are the worst that I've played, they look like last-gen games and play like they're even older.

I'd have to say Oblivion or Mirror's Edge. So...much...unnecessary...bloom lighting.
Mirror's Edge had decent visuals, certainly not worst in class for the current-gen.

I thought AC2 was pretty shocking on PS3. The clothes were great but the people had horribly rendered faces.

mount and blade warband, even though i love the game to bits, its so mindnumbingly ugly, it makes you want to punch the character models in the face

i agree
I agree also, i think it was rather annoying that they said it had something special to make it look better ... come on was that made up on the day the creators were like "how else can we screw with the people that are gonna buy this?"
"i got" one creator said, who i will name michael (bay) "let's say that we'll add a special new technology that will make this game not look like a ps1 game that was put in an oven, then we'll hype it up as we usually do to make as much money as we can before they realise it's nothing but a (metaphor) used branston pickle jar filled with bile and shit. FUCK THEM. (this creator also did this to the transformers movies)
You just compared a game that looks completely shitty with Transformers. Really? Transformers looks fucking awesome, okay? Almost every movie Michael Bay makes looks really good, but just because you don't like him as a director there's no need to spew bile when it comes to a subject he's good at.

Hey, I don't like him either, but at least find a good reason to hate him.
AWESOME BARBEQUE? AWESOME POOL! [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lXRCf9LbLM0]
Well, at least he can afford to take the piss out of himself.

AC2 on the 360 and AC1 on both versions suffered the same exact problem.

From what I've played I would say Prototype. Underneath a few nice little effects and high resolution, it could easily pass as a PS2 game. The models and the textures are baaad bad bad.
2 words.
THE MODELS.
I STILL HAVE NIGHTMARES.
To be fair, that game could cram in a metric fuck-ton of stuff and never ever chug.
