I was playing a sniper level in Cod 4, when I shot the mission target perfectly in the head but the game bugged out and it hit his arm instead...

Fucking unacceptable, Infinity Ward.
Haha! This comment instantly made me search for the 'like' button! Think I've been spending too much time on Facebook adn Youtube!! Classic though! I think everyone pretty much went for the perfect headshot, but got pissed when they found they had been royally mugged off when he shows up with his missing hand! What a twat!

Anyone remember the bulletproof leaves on the roof of a building (the rio map I beleive) on MW2? You could shoot people through walls, but through the leaves of a palm tree? Hell no!
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. has really odd bushes. I can shoot someone a mile away with a sniper, just fine. If he's behind a bush, nope. Fucking deflects .50 cal rounds! HOW?! Not collision detection, just odd.

OT: Any online game, nearly. Lag means half the time, you'll need to spray and pray.

Start looking at 9.31, you'll know it when you see it.

It's not me playing but it's by far the worst one I've ever seen.
Amount of time I've played Scout and Sniper, I can tell you hitscan in TF2 is awful.

I got headshots by sheer luck before

Played Tibia a LOT of years ago. One day, when I finally had reached the second area, I saw someone fleeing with really low health left. I decided to be a bastard and kill him.
Turned out he was like a bazillion levels higher than me.

Pretty sure it caused my level to go down, so I was then too weak to progress at all on the char.

Grand Theft Auto 4 Multiplayer (Xbox 360 version), the whole thing is a complete hit detection nightmare.

Play Red Orchestra 2 and you'll have a million stories. One that stands out to me is the time me and an opponent we're in a small room, each of us emptied a full clip of machinegun fire and each other and neither of us suffered a hit. We had to try to melee each other to death, (I won.) But seriously, Red Orchestra 2 is fun, but the hit detection is nonsense.
Yeah the spray on the autofire is all over the place. I gave up even trying to shoot a rifle at close range and just go on a stabbing spree whenever an enemy is within 10 feet of me.

You're hiding from enemies.
There's a picket fence (Or something similar)
Think you'll shoot through the fence to kill the enemy
The fence turns out to be one giant texture and blocks your shot, alerting the enemy of your presence.

Team Snipers in Halo 3.

After getting our asses handed to us I went into the video menu and watched the match because I could have sworn I'd hit more than half of the supposed missed headshots.

Turns out I had. Each smoke trail lead directly through the head at one spot or another. Someone was lag-switching like a bastard.

Running at a heavy spraying at me as a spy. Stab him in the face and he dies. Or stabbing thin air ahead of me and hearing a scout die behind me is always cool.

Every single time I charge in left 4 dead 2 I miss. Everytime. I just bounce right off everyone. It sucks.

The whole of metro 2033. Worst, hit detection, ever.

Luckily it's not a competitive game so it doesn't hurt too much, although the difficulty is generally scaled up a bit so you do feel it when you blow about 100 of your relatively precious ammo into a things face only to notice that it had almost zero effect.

And the throwing knives..oh god..the throwing knives which are a complete gamble whether they will instakill a guy in the back or bounce off one of his assorted ammo pouches or just alert him to exactly where you are.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2
There are countless videos on YT about it. It was really common and HIGHLY frustrating. Especially if you were a shotgun user.

How could the shotguns have slipped my mind? Or when you go to knife someone, see blood, see a hit marker, and they turn around and shotgun you.

Whilst playing the hostage mission on BF3 ( Co-op, Ninja achievement ) Me and a friend made our way through it perfectly and upon reaching the Hostages room - I was then stabbed. My friend saw and realised that the knife from said enemy, came THROUGH the wall and upon my death I noticed an arm sticking out.

One of my friends shot him in the neck, then the bullet curved around and flew back into his arm. It was a nice idea (like lots of things in Cod 4) but a bit sloppy...
