I'll admit that Bioshock 2 was not as fresh as Bioshock 1 and that I was expecting a little more... (I still loved it, though. Everybody here seems to treat it like it was the biggest turd to ever be shat out by a studio, but it was still Bioshock. I guess people are just hard to please here.)

Brawl was a pretty big slap to the face for me...

The original Paper Mario has not held up well. At least not compared to Thousand Year Door and Super Paper Mario.
I agree why does everybody hate Bioshock 2 so much I thought it's a good game, even though the first was better in terms of story in the sequel the combat got a proper adjustment that it desperately needed. But keeping up with the thread I would have to say Megaman X5, 6 and 7 phantom hourglass, Kingdom Hearts Remix Chain of memories, and of course THE UNHOLY TRIFORCE!!!

Silent Hill: Homecoming.
The only reason I've played it a lot is because it's the only Silent Hill on the 360, and that's the only thing I like about it. The characters are cliche'd, Pyramid Head shouldn't be there, the twist was comically predictable, and the gameplay was too easy. It's Silent Hill, you're supposed to feel overpowered and helpless. In SH:H you can kill most enemies easily. In all the GOOD Silent Hill games, combat is difficult and not worth it. You aren't a supersoldier or a soldier who can kill people like a supersoldier (Alex). You're a writer, a depressed widowed man, a teenage girl, or a photographer who can only say "What the hell?". You are desprately ticking away at the lives of your enemies with a wooden plank while they try to slaughter you and hang you from the wall.
Although, Origins sucked just as much, so I guess both of those.

Half-Life: Blue Shift is the worst for me. There isn't anything shockingly bad about it, it was simply boring, especially without any new weapons like in Opposing Force. Granted, I haven't played Decay, so I could be wrong.

twas fun, though...

The first mother.

CoD3, WaW and MW2.
Yeah, I kinda only liked CoD 1, 2 and 4.

Also, Jak X and Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier kinda ruined the Jak and Daxter series.
Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy, Jak II and Jak 3 is still amongst the best games ever.

Metal Gear Solid 4 (that's right, I went there)
Resident Evil 5
Call of Duty 3
Zelda 2
God of War 2

None of these are bad games, just my least favorite in their respective series.

If you want a genuinely terrible entry that fails on almost every level, as part of an otherwise solid series of games, my vote goes to Final Fantasy VIII.

Sons of Liberty was really, really bad compared to the rest of the Metal Gear Solid games.
This. I still didn't mind it too much, especially when compared to some games of other series (Lookin' at you, Mega Man 7) but the sudden shift (and decline) in protagonist was pretty jarring.

This clip should speak for itself:
I haven't played the other games, but if this is the worst game, then the whole MGS series must be utterly divine. Sons of Liberty is the best story ever to be written out of any piece of literature, film or game. Everything comes together so perfectly. I can't imagine why anyone would hate it.

Madden NFL 09 was garbage, but I played it quite a bit only because I didn't have a good copy of NFL 2K5 back then.

SmackDown VS Raw 2008 and 2009 were crap. 2010 was vastly improved and 2011 looks to be the best one yet.

Final Fantasy X-2 is the only one i can remember.. FFX was epic. (for me it was) then FFX-2 came.. ruined it for me >.< , imo FFX-2 is the continuation to FFX but only for fanGIRLS...

EDIT : warhammers expansions (dark crusade, soulstorm) all they had was to add a one/two (i forgot) new race in both of em, and a few maps, <.<

From a gameplay/nostalgic charm appeal, Halo 3 was still quite good but narrative wise it was weak compared to the others. That said I still liked it a lot.

However the absolute worst I think is still Halo Wars. I thought the concept was great and it did help flesh out the universe of Halo a little deeper but as people keep saying it is fairly shallow as RTS's go, being all about the action rather than the build up and it has some very poor representations of the Covenant and parts of the Halo universe in general.
I didn't like how the Elites were represented, and the cinematics were way too much about style and not enough about substance and it seemed to be trying to completely abandon the initial angle of showing the Covenant in a sympathetic light and instead just reverted them back to fanatical zealots which annoyed me.
Plus, I can't understand why exactly, but I really hated John Forge. For reasons that baffle me every time he spoke I wanted to punch him and I was constantly rooting for the Evil Arbiter to kill him.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky. By far the weakest link in the series, it's even buggier than the first game, and not nearly as atmospheric due to the over-abundance of NPCs in the game world. It has some good ideas and the first stage (the swamps) is awesome, and so is the new Red Forest, but the rest of the levels are either rather boring re-hashes of areas from the first game, or very linear and poorly paced battlegrounds that feel unfinished (Limansk and the old hospital).
So true. I actually got a game-stopping bug halfway through the game, even though I had patched it, which meant getting further became impossible. After that I just said "Screw this!" and went to do something more fun.
