First one has a brutal learning curve (for multiplayer anyway, you basically can't lose in the campaign until the final mission), hundreds of units etc. Supcom 2 you can only have like 5 builder units (re: dumbing down), less units, just overall simpler.

Simpler rarely means better.
Alright, thanks for the info.

Out of all the Halo games, Halo 3 was my least favorite. Loved Halo 2 and liked the original, and I Adored ODST.

I've probably been ninja'd but I can't be arsed to check.

GTA4, if I didn't enjoy the multiplayer so much it would have been sold ages ago.

GTA 4 for haveing awfull cars and lots of other smaller annoyances like the effing cousin calling up all the god damn time.

MW2 Very big disappointment. The first 1 had a excellent single player part in addition to multiplayer wich lasted quite long while i played through the second game totaly unfulfilled and bored

Well, I'm going to say Mass Effect 2 disappointed me. It just lacked a certain something that Mass Effect had.

The final boss was terrible, the load times too long, no going out the airlock, inventory stripped down, story had too long a middle, ending was pretty pathetic as sucide missions go, very little overall plot development and not as good a soundtrack.

Yeah, I'm hoping Mass Effect 3 will be better.

I enjoyed Halo:CE and 2, but found 3 was a let down. I wasn't a fan of CoD:WaW either. But I think the 'prize' has to go to Oblivion - Arena was good (for it's day), Daggerfall was better (again, for it's day), Morrowind is still an excellent game, and Oblivion was average. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't as good as it's predecessors (which is as big a crime as a sequel can commit). I could go into lengthy detail, but the whole 'Oblivion - Good or Bad?' thing has been done to death in other threads, so let's just say I wasn't a fan.

Halo 2. It felt rushed and incomplete, and that was before the cliffhanger ending. Personally, I like ODST immensely.

Donkey Kong Country 3. It just didn't "feel" like a DKC game. It had too many peripheral characters (Bears? Really?) and it came across as too goofy compared to the previous ones.

Star Fox Adventures. This game singlehandedly killed off any enthusiasm I had for the series. I have never picked up a new Star Fox game ever since, and I keep telling myself the series ended with the N64 version.

Dawn of War: Soulstorm. I actually held off on buying this game after I heard how badly Ironlore had butchered this expansion, but I finally bit the bullet in order to download some mods I wanted to try out. As an avid Warhammer fan, it was downright painful to see how little they seemed to care about the setting. A Chaos lord who breaks down and cries? A planet that produces HUNDREDS of Baneblades, and it isn't even a Forge World? Flying units that hover in place? The mods helped alleviate the pain, but in the end I don't think they justified the purchase.

X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter. Gone were the cohesive narratives of X-Wing and Tie Fighter, and instead we got a grab bag of missions (many of which were copied from Tie Fighter) with no story whatsoever. Thank goodness X-Wing Alliance proved to be a return to form.

For everyones favorite series, there is always a particular game that people seem to dislike or even hate. In your opinion, what games don't live up to their predecessors?

I personally always hated Phantom Hourglass, the fact that it was a sequel to Wind Waker my favorite Zelda game even made me more angry.
I loved windwaker, but tohe controls for Phantom hourglass were fucking woeful. I never bothered to finish that game. I hated it, and regret buying it.
At least I wasn't sucked into purchasing Spirit tracks this time.
For me, Mass Effect II has been the black sheep of the series so far. They need to improve many things for III, or I shan't be parting with my cash.

Tomb Raider LEGEND. 8/

Sorry, just....sorry.

Granted, my views on the series aren't exactly popular, hell, my favorite in the series is actually Lara Croft Tomb Raider : Angel Of Darkness..........<.<;
Huh, I thought the newest one was worst.

The combat was atrocious, the help system was useless (it told me something was interior, but it was outside. What the fuck!) and everything just declined. Legend had a sense of wonder about the platforming and exploration. Underworld had a sense of rage and frustration.

Guy knows it...I thought 12 was made by one bloke who sneaked it past Square...and they never bothered to recall it.

I will never get over that game
