I'm quite certain that lag specifically refers unresponsiveness. To call latency lag is actually incorrect, that is why it has its own name. (I'll go check though and edit this if I'm wrong.)Maddyfiren said:Hey guys, lag is crappy latency, not your shoddy framerates.
Unless the definition has changed.
You should add me on Mabi: Endon40One Hit Noob said:Ha, Dunbarton makes me lag more.TheAceTheOne said:Okay, I'm frustrated. I was playing an MMO called Mabinogi, and there was an event on it. This event had two "Channels" (of five, only two were full) last time I checked. I don't quite know how to explain channels, but I'll try. They're alternate versions of the game world on a server, and usually only one or two are laggy.
This event, the Masquerade, in honor of a new Shakespeare-inspired quest line, is on right now. And the lag made my game crash. Or rather, the influx of players caused the game to lag and crash me out. I've tried logging back in and it's showing my friends list empty and my guild non-existent because of the overload of players and the lag.
So, after this short rant, I want to ask you guys and gals on the Escapist: What's the worst lag you've ever suffered from? How'd you deal with it? Do you know the cause? If so, what was it?
OT: Back in the day when my computer reached the point of "obsolete".
Ah. No worries. Just glad someone knows about Mabi XDOne Hit Noob said:I am sorry, but I quit Mabi some time ago.TheAceTheOne said:You should add me on Mabi: Endon40One Hit Noob said:Ha, Dunbarton makes me lag more.TheAceTheOne said:Okay, I'm frustrated. The lag should be down today, since the Masq has ended.
I wouldn't worry about it. I work in mysterious ways.Z of the Na said:You don't see the irony in doing that? Wouldn't that just do the same thing to everybody else who is playing the game with you at the time? I just fail to see a true solution to the problem if you're only course of action is to commit the same act that brought you chagrin in the first place.ScoopMeister said:Always Call of Duty, whenever someone quits the game. 'Tis annoying.
How did I deal with it? I just turned my XBox off.
Huh.
