I went to Game in my area this afternoon and you wouldn't believe what happened. As I entered I say them labeling copies of Final Fantasy XIII for the Tuesday release. I physically saw the games and what's worse is both copies I order were being labeled with price tags right in front of me. First the APOCALYPS3 then this! Talk about a series of unfortunate events! Anyone else have bad luck like this before?
I don't understand what the problem is here. Just seeing it a week before you can play it?

Here's a worse story that happens more often: seeing a bunch of games you want, but only being able to afford one of them. Or NONE of them. For months.

Or seeing a rare old title that's just been bought up the same day you finally have the time and money to go in and buy it. That sucks.

My graphics card decided to die during a raid. My tempest of chaos dropped... Mine! I've been waiting in line for months. >.< Didn't drop for another two months.

Oh...I entered this thread expecting a story of how your console of choice suddenly burst into flames, then your game collection burst into flames and the fire brigade, to put it out, stomped on them with concrete boots. But maybe my imagination is working overtime.

OT: No, nothing like that.
I have had 3 RRoD's in three years though.
I keep reading about these RRoD... I have never, ever since the 360 came out, had one.

I had one 360 from the day it was released worldwide, up until 2 months ago with not a single problem. Then I accidentally knocked it off my balcony.. so bought another one. 2 months still no probs.

These RRoD, I only discovered a few weeks ago. Ha, guess I've been lucky? Is it a common thing?
Very lucky, everyone I know who has a 360 has gotten the god damn thing at least once. And I mean everyone.
I've had it for a year and a half now and it's absolutely fine.

A nice simple bit of bad luck here:

T'was one of the early, 2D Worms games. I fired homing rocket, making it home on a point in mid air off the other side of the map. It flew toward the point, then looped perfectly around it, coming back to hit my poor little worm square in the face. From the other side of the map...

[EDIT] Funniest this is both 360's RROD while playing Enchanted Arms, that games a curse on me!
You know i think mine went RROD while playing enchanted arms.

That is such a shit game, but at the time it was one of the few JRPGs on Xbox.

Probably the 9 360's I went through before I got smart and bought a PS3.

Had it for 2 years now and it hasn't died on me.

I had the 360 for the same amount of time and it died 9 times.

OK... how about people giving their worst luck stories instead of reminding me that I'm a stupid fanboy. That's what I really wanted to see.

Anyone have any good stories?

v.v Over-exaggeration thy name is me!

I promise you I'll buy FF13 if it releases on PC

I had about 60-70 hours in Fallout 3, finally decided to get Operation Anchorage I get to the final guy and it autosaves, the game crashes. I start the game up again and it loads, the game zooms in on the guy but he doesn't do anything, no speech or anything. I reloaded over and over, no luck. Couldn't noclip out of the area because the game was stuck in its stupid pseudocinematic sequence. Finally closed down the game and was going to try to replay it from a save like 4hours earlier...saves corrupted.

I also had a similar thing with Oblivion, after almost completing the game 100% (I just had that dark crystal event and a shrine quest left) my laptop's motherboard finally caved in and died. Second time playing hours and hours into the game my other laptop's graphic card overheated and pretty much was dead, couldn't find a reasonably priced replacement, it was no longer manufactured and no one was selling the card alone.

Worst luck i've ever had would have to be with WoW. I played the beta, and they allowed you to keep your account after they went live , no characters or anything , but least your name was saved so you could have it.
The account got hacked while i wasn't using it and happened to get an email from blizzard saying they had me starting another 6 months of game cards.. that i didn't buy.
Phoned them up and said i didn't buy anything , spent something like 6 hours total on the phone with them to discover that when i left the whole guild i was in was hacked by one of the members and that my credit card had been charged, which was fixed and then they offered me a free year of game play because of the incident... bad choice to say yes as i did play again.

Funniest worst would be i have owned 6 xbox 360's , 4 of red ringed within 2 months of owning , hence return to where i purchased , 1 has damaged cd's that one microsoft took back along with the 2 games it ruined. And 1 that is currently doing a damn fine job.
Also have had 3 PS3's that have broken, and a Wii that gathered so much dust that when i went to sell it i though it had grown a twin brother on top.
Have had a DS lite that had a hinge crack , a PSP that fell off the 8th story balcony of my apartment , have one side get run over by a car , and still turn on with no damage to the screen and one some minor cracking on the side that got run over.
Also way back in the day when my 5.1 surround sound speakers for my PC had the wire get damaged , i replaced it only to have not realized i didn't use the right amp cord causing half my parents house to go dark.

So having a price tag on FF13.. which if you enjoy repetitive tasks , you'll love this game .. we gave up on story long ago , this time you get to fight twice the bad guys , with half the love. Meh its a price tag, you can remove those easy enough.

If you get an RROD on your Xbox, would that not be fate rather than bad luck?

XBOXFANFLAMESHIELD... ACTIVATED!

In online shooters, people always shoot me before I can shoot them. I've always played under the assumption it's bad luck on my part. Recently, I've been thinking it might just be me that is, you know, not very good.

Oh, worms, how many times I wiped out my own team because things did not bounce the way I was expecting them to bounce.
