I almost bit half of my tongue off in a crash. It was stitched up in the ER. It swelled a lot, I couldn't speak or chew properly for a week. Still have a bit of scarring on mt tongue.

Well I got swine flu once. It was a minor case but for the first few days it hurt like hell. Every movement was like a metal pipe being smashed against my head. Then it dissapeared, Oh and I'm strangely small for my age and have a inflamed nose which they thought was a pollup for several years, making me take the wrong medicine. Apart from that nothing terrible.

I have crohn's disease so yeah its sucks really really bad
First time poster, long time lurker, and I have a feeling this guy is me.

I was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease when I was 11, but I suffered since I was 10 due to medical experts not knowing what was wrong with me. Before I was diagnosed, my joints would swell up, including my elbows, knees, and ankles, and left me housebound and missing a lot of school. I couldn't eat or drink anything without needing a toilet nearby (that's still true today), as well as my appetite being non-existant. I could barely drink water without wanting to hurl or feeling my bowels cramp. Due to the medication I've been on, It's caused my bone age to suffer a lot, so I've also been diagnosed with Osteoporosis.

Since then (basically, my entire teen years), it has psychologically affected me to the point that I feel that I will always be rejected by my peers, by potential girlfriends, as well as other social circles as I don't think they want to have to babysit a guy who can't (literally) hold his shit, and it's caused me to develop no social life. On the plus side it does give me a few guidelines to live, as I can't drink much as it would massacre my liver, and it lets me know my limits.
I was diagnosed last June when I just turned 14, it took them a while to find out I had to have a colonoscopy

Worst I've had is kidney stones, but I've had 5 of them since I was 15 (21 now).
This. Oddly enough same quantity. More oddly, same timespan (15-21).

Holy Twilight Zone Batman!! Did you drink ludicrous amounts of caffeine your entire life too? Were you addicted to RC Cola as a child? How far does this rabbit hole go?!?
D8 I...need to go have a good cry >_> Yes, ludicrous amounts, far more than a human should consume. Yes, I loved RC Cola. But I have one thing: I know you don't like Amps >_> Please say you don't, I am scared.

Extrem dehydration (Stopped responding? (ambulance to hospital) Very bad asthma. used to be Allergic against Grass & mites. Fell down a stone stairs (Had to get 5 stitches on my forehead) bad hearing, bad sight, something close to tinnitus. Probably forgotten a couple of things but overall I guess I would be pretty lucky compared to some people in this thread

mine is a story: i left the lights on in my car and had to push it out of its parking spot to get a jump. i was a little overzealous and was pushing too fast and almost hit another car. i sprinted into my drivers seat and hit the break, and my right knee popped the hell out of place. while still horribly dislocated (the doctors said it was one of the worst they had seen) i threw my other leg over to hit the breaks quickly.

i did not hit the car, narrowly stopped before hitting it. i could not move, so i kind of did a barrel roll out of my car onto the ground and called for help. unfortunately, i was at the air force base at the employee parking lot behind the bx (im a microsoft vendor out there) and didnt have anyones number. so, i sat there for 5 minutes before someone came out for a smoke break. it took about 5 minutes for the base police to get there and interrogate me for 20 minutes before the ambulance showed up.

all in all, super fun day :p took me 2 weeks to recover.

A kidney infection when I was 5 but that went away quickly and haven't had any problems since. Chronic sinusitis for the past 3 years which is a total *****. Apparently it runs in the family since both my grandfather and father have it. It's not genetic though so I guess we're all just morons who can't take care of our lungs. Have also gotten pneumonia 2 years in a row so woo for me! It was mild every time though. Broke my clavicle, both knees, right hand (still hurts), both big toes on my feet.

After a football accident my 2 toes near the big one on my left foot have become extra flexible. Had bronchitis once, that was a *****. Recurrent "mild" migraines every 6 or so months. I get the aura and everything but the pain isn't that bad. Developed generalized anxiety disorder when I was 9 with recurrent panic attacks though they've become weekly now rather than daily so that's a good thing. I also have mild sight problems and tinnitus. I know it's not much when compared to some other stories here but I thought I'd share.

I don't get sick much but i've gotten plenty of injuries and close calls. Broken thumb, dislocated jaw, head injury directly followed by seizures, almost lost my right hand to frostbite and almost permanently paralyzed from the waist down when i broke my tailbone. Breaking my tailbone was easily the worst one of them all, not only was the initial pain the worst i experienced, i couldn't sit and could barely stand and walk for at least 2 weeks.

I also have a scar on my thigh where the muscle has been permanently destroyed so it looks like a small but noticeable chunk of my thigh missing.

I had a near-fatal C-Dif infection when I was having chemotherapy. It basically rots your internal organs. I couldn't eat or drink anything for two weeks and couldn't even walk for months afterwards.

About a month after that I had a stomach hemmorage (No idea how its spelt) and started vomiting blood and my nose was bleeding so much it had to be burnt.

I'm often known as the cheery one of the group, BTW.

Chronic Insomnia. I've tried everything to sleep, but it never works.
As someone that just got up after lying down for 5 hours with no sleep, I agree it sucks. My insomnia is linked to my anxiety.

As for me.

The last few years (beginning signs 10 years ago that slowly developed over time) I've come down with a chronic anxiety neurosis linked to a developed social phobia. It just came out of nowhere about a year or so ago and has increased to the point I literally collapse with no control with tingling shaking numb hands, feet and jaw in public half the time with dizziness, weakness and blurred vision. Its terrifying and has f-ed up my life. I've been forbidden to work by my GP after seeing 2 doctors and 2 specialists and have been placed on disability. Before this developed I never even knew anxiety/phobia could do this to you. Its crippling. I can't even sleep sometimes.
That's terrible. I hope you find some relief somewhere. I haven't got anxiety, just a chemical imbalance in my brain, I imagine. I'm not depressed or anything of the sort, just tired all the time. All I can think about is sleep. Have you considered having an FMRI done? PET scan? Even just an EEG might help. They could find what's going wrong, and perhaps fix it. I've got a sleep study EEG coming up soon.

Well if mental conditions count I have gone into severe paranoid panic attacks from lack of food and sleep.

Heh, I practically have nothing on you guys, with your conditions. Minor little niggling things that are easy enough to get rid of.

Asthma - gone.
Eczema - gone.
Tonsil stones - annoying, but not that much.
Peyronie's - Mild. I'm going to blame this one on surgeons, which is why I distrust them. However, fixable.

I don't really get major conditions, though, being a wally, I do get a host of scares (hooray for symptom checking/self-diagnosing).

4 years ago I had glandular fever and for two weeks I could only eat soup and yoghurt and drink luke warm water. Then 2 and a half years after I had chronic colds. I would have a cold for two weeks and then stop having a cold for about a week. Worst years of my life considering I only could breath 2/3 of the year.
