Besides, it's nothing to worry about really. It's the internet, people rebuke and chide each other all the time. I just try to do it with a little more class.
I am liking you. You and your class.

I sit next to a computer when I play, so if I need to formulate an intelligent insult, I go on a thesaurus site (or an insult generator).

That, or I drop the clusterfuck bomb.

I swear to god, there should be a mandatory IQ test or something before you're allowed on the internet.
That'd be really cool. I wonder what Yahtzee would call it?

I'm not sure if Rainbow Six Vegas has good multiplayer or not, but it doesn't really matter because the people suck. You see, someone figured out that you get the most experience points by playing a certain game type on a certain map, so at least 90% of the matches are Attack and Defend on Calypso Casino. On top of that, you get more experience if the round lasts longer, so you'll find yourself in a situation where if you try to capture the objective with more than ten seconds left in the game, your teammates will yell at you.

Is the rank that important? I hate experience and leveling systems in multiplayer to begin with (I think they make people focus on gaining points rather than working for the good of the team) but these people aren't even playing the game!

Edit:

My worst was being verbally abused by Brokeback Mountain fans on IMDb, just because I said I didn't like the film. I swear to god, there should be a mandatory IQ test or something before you're allowed on the internet.
I've thought about that before. I feel like an elitist jerk for considering it, but I honestly believe it should exist. But here's my idea: let those morons keep their internet. We'll create the "othernet". It'll be a superset of the internet, where we can access their stuff but they aren't allowed on our minimum IQ sites.

Does this make me a bad person?

Then why do you continue to do it?

I haven't had that much experience with the online community since I haven't had XBL in years and I never have time to get into games like WoW. There was one encounter, however, that was just laughably sad. While playing DOA2:Ultimate one day, I happened to stumble into a room where sever players with grades of B and up were dealing with one person who was an F, the lowest grade you could possibly get. You couldn't hear your own thoughts past all the smack-talking and F-bombs that were being dropped. And a majority of it was coming from the F player. Not only was he a framerate's worst nightmare with the lag he was causing, he would only pick Tengu, the boss character that was cheaper than anyone else. The guy wouldn't shut up about how he was a gaming GOD and everyone else in the universe was complete shit and utterly beneath him... while he was still getting his ass kicked.

In retrospect, I think we might've been playing against JBL.

I saw a video on youtube about how the psychology of pedophilia, and what goes on in their twisted heads. Some bastard in the comments started spouting off about how pedophiles that rape kids are 'showing love to them' and anyone who thought differently was stupid and should shut the fuck up. That made me physically ill.

I think it relates to all the posts here, but for me it's the sad fact that the vast majority of people who use these services are all subject to John Gabriel's Internet Dickwad Theory, wherein: Normal Person + Anonymity + Audience = Total F***wit.

This tends to color most of the experiences I have with people online, in games and out of them.

This is why I don't like big forums much, but this one looked friendly and well-enforced enough.
Does anyone have anything like this?
Try playing MGO

yep the game that is meant for teamwork is also the game full of A$$H&les

They swear and curse the hell out of the text box most of the time simply because they don't like the fact you killed them.

but when you use a Shotgun in that game.........OMG the amount of hate you get is just torture because in MGO it's all about headshots (Making the game skillful yet super annoying)

i had one guy who spent the rest of the game saying every possible insult to me and demaning me to stop using the gun.

and it was a pain in the ass

Dear Konami:

Switch to PSN

Fix MGO

I posted a negative review of "Revenge of the Sith" on some site and got some kid sending me email for a while about how I was an idiot for not liking it! I'll repost a favorite of mine

"More than 67, 000 critiques of this film, Revenge of the Sith, and more than 97 % of them give this film and all its features an average of A-. And which film is NUMBER ONE at the box office for 3 weeks? It does not matter what your ridiculous and stupid critiques are. . Most people love it and who are you to even think of critiquing Mr. Lucas. ? Where is the great film YOU have written, directed, produced or acted in.? If you dont understand what a good film is..that is your right...but to go public with such stupidity....get a life.....until you are part of the making of movies and know what goes into them, you are out of your league......it is like a 3rd grader critiquing a Ph. D. university professor's published book. You simply are not qualified to make such judgements. And what nerve to say the film does not deserve this or the actors dont deserve this or Mr Lucas has wasted our time......More than 96% of the people who saw this film loved it and it WAS NOT a waste of time. And no matter what you say...the results of the movie's qualified intelligent critics have already given everyone connected with this film, the honors they deserve. Get a life.....stop embarrassing yourself with your lack of professional ability to rate anything and DID you know that a high number of people with Master's Degrees and Ph.D's loved this film and are planning to see it again.......? "

My friend did that and it was ungodly boring to wait and wait for that excat time but I didn't see it as much on R6V2, probley because of being able to rank up in the main story. Then again when it comes to online gaming I'm an ubsociable bastard to all but a few.

I haven't seen anything that horrible on the net so i can't say much besides the stupid fanboys on the GameFaqs Fourms

Some girl I never met asked me out online, I said no, and the rest of that week, all I got was a load of spam mail.

All of it claiming she would kill herself if I didn't go out with her.

I wish I was joking...

The moment I found out you could watch porn on the net for free. It was simultaneously the best and worst moment on the net.
How about that rule of the Internet? Something along the lines of "Anything you enjoyed as a child, you can be sure that someone made it into porn."

I'm not going there apart from saying that this also crushed me.
Rule 34: If it exists, there is porn of it.

In left for dead I was running out of the first house with my brain dead teammates when I spied 2 coctails on the ground so I picked them up and passed them to my team only to see everyone on FIRE. COMMON PEOPLE, LEARN TO CATCH!

But srsly..
I used to have a character in WoW who was on a PvPRp server. A troll warrior. So one day my friend and I were hanging out in Stranglethorn just doing whatever, both of us on the cross faction vent server. So we decided to have some fun just walking around killing each others lowbies, just to be fair. We weren't really trying and would just move on after we killed someone. Within 15 minutes of this one of the hotshot gruild leaders from a "serous" RP guild on the Horde side pops in and starts going postal on us. Talk about taking the game way to seriously, WE DIDN'T EVEN CAMP ANYONE.

Yeah, she left me alone eventually, but at the time it was the worst part of my day, going onto my email and finding those messages....
