Worst thing one or both of your parents have done to you

Uh... well my dad's generally been pretty decent. He's honest, hard-working and intelligent, and basically taught me how to think logically... but I haven't quite forgiven him for throwing out my old comics...

That said though, I don't have any real complaints about my parents.

Oh, and my mum gave me a name that, while being a boys name in Poland, is spelt like a girls name here in Scotland, so I guess that would sort of compete... not that its ever bothered me for 5 seconds, I was named after my grandfather and anyone who tries to use it as an insult will generally get the response "I'm overweight, have relatively few friends, dress scruffily and (list any other problems in my life here), and THAT was the best you could come up with?"

Wow, makes me glad my parents are decent. They're divorced, and there's always been this sense that they've been using me and my sister to snipe at eachother. I live with my dad, who tends to get a bit angry if my mum does/doesn't do stuff for us, and takes it out on us two, which really starts to grate after a while.

My mum likes to "keep an eye" on me via Facebook, too. I can't delete her off my friends' list for fear of arguments. I can't wait to leave home, I'm 20 years old and think it's a couple of years overdue as it is.

My mom treats me like a 16 year old, even though I'm 21. I have to ASK her to go out with friends, or my fiancee. She completely freaked out that I got engaged. She keeps on calling my fiancee "Princess" just because she does not have a job and is focusing on graduating college with a degree in Chemistry. She says that I bow to my fiancee's every wish. She also is forcing me to pay almost $300 a month for health insurance when I make less than that every two weeks. I cannot stay out past midnight most of the times, 10 on weekdays. I cannot see my fiancee more than 3 times a week. Me and her argued about a week ago and I stormed out and went to my fiancee's. About an hour later she called and said if I didn't come home she would call the police and file a stolen car report (because the title is in my parent's names). She will not transfer the title for my car to me so that way i can sell it and get a new one. She drives by my fiancee's house when I tell her I'm going out to another one of my friends houses to make sure that I'm not over there.
Oh and she goes through my trash to see what reciepts I have for what I've bought, and looks through my room probably on a once a week basis.
She's a psycho controlling *****.

My step-dad cheated on my mum with numerous people online (E-sex) and blamed it on me.
He failed. I laughed.
My real dad is... well just a plain ass.

Well, looking back my parents were pretty good to me. They let me go out when I wanted, and only got angry with me when I was being a bit oif an ass...

My real dad left mom and me when I was a baby. He intentionally ODd four years later. Stepdad likes to pretend A: that I don't exist, or B: that I'm not actually a member of the family, but rather a live-in maid. Mommie dearest likes to guilt-trip everyone into doing as she wants, their feelings be damned! I guess she can't help it, though; she's an unmedicated bipolar so she believes she's the greatest thing ever and people should worship her.

While I would love to know more about my EscaPeers (see what i did there!) this is gonna be despressing.

Sorry to hear about your Kayak.
When I was a child. My dad threw a ring onto my freshly circumcised penis, essentially turning me into a walking game of hoopla. I contribute as comic relief for you, ColdStorage...if nothing else.

im still bitter with my dad for trying to make me right handed in everything. naturally im sort of ambidextrous, but i can now only write properly using my right hand, and i use my left hand for most other things out of spite.

i don't think that he knows about this though. i haven't confronted him about it beyond the level of screaming at him at age 8 that i find it easier to eat with the knife and fork the other way around.

If your an only child & your father has left...im gna have too say "empty nest syndrome" is the cause.

Feck the car off, Just refuse too pay for it and dont use it, Invest in a push bike, Save up & move out. Burn any non-essencial reciepts. Every now & again tell her your going too see your friends at a specific location as far away as you can say, then go somewhere else. Turn off your mobile.

basically throw a major spanner in the works to her control, Show her in every way possible that she CANNOT control you.

I did this with my step-dad. I was waiting for him too hit me so i could get him sent down for assaulting a minor (i was 16 at the time)...he didnt, But he did leave.

Do step-parents count in this? Because my parents are both great to me, if a bit meddling, but my former stepfather...I'll leave it at that until I get an answer.
