The needler. It might just be me, but it's kinda hard to hit someone with bullets that move at 10 mph and only home in from 15 feet away.
I agree, it is awesome if you actually hit someone with it. But since it has like no ammo and only hits someone of they are standing in front of you without moving
How can you hate a gun with homing bullets which explode after about 10 shots.
The assault rifle however..... 1 clip to kill someone AHHH!!!

I thought the Shiskebab was fairly effective. And I'd have to say the BB Gun from Fallout 3. Only kills Radroaches, if memory serves. Nothing else gets hurt.
Yeh, the shishkebab is quite neat, handy for knocking down savage dogs when the need arises as well anything else you have the guts to get up close and personal with. That said, I'm putting a lot of points into melee at the moment so am frequently staring down super mutants with my ripper as well :).

The stick you got near the start of Prince of Persia: Warrior Within seemed a bit useless...:p

That assault rifle was just terrible, I swear I was going to say the klobb but that gun just trumped it, simply because the klobb was purposely crap by design.

The most disappointing weapon in FO3 was the Miss Launcher. If it's a grenade launcher, make it a grenade launcher, not this missile launcher that throws like a 6 year old emaciated Ethiopian child.
I agree with this. I hated the Miss Launcher. I even wasted some Missile launchers to repair it before I fired it, and then I found out that it was shit.

How about the original SMG from Halo 2. The thing sounded like an unloaded paintball gun when it fired and did about as much damage. The mini-gun and Flamer from Fallout 3 are some of the least practical ways to kill something. They consume massive amounts of ammunition, but kill so slowly that if you're facing a supermutant you will almost always be killed depending on what kind of character you're playing as.

The Deku Stick from OoT. Yeah, they're not supposed to be used as weapons, but they can be. Along the same lines, I was also very dissappointed by the Razor Sword in Majora's Mask. I have to shell out so many rupees to sharpen the thing, and it dulls after 100 strikes. For a sword that looks so epic, it was sure a letdown.

Zodiac from Ratchet & Clank 2. Fukken hated that gun. Not worth the bolt grind.
haha yeah the zodiac was the most pointless weapon ever. Such an anti-climax when you could finally afford it and it fires like three times before running outta ammo and forcing you to spend half your bank account to load it up again.

i think the mark of a TRULY bad weapon is one which ruins an otherwise good game. for me, i have to look at the new mario kart, which may as well be titled "mario kart melee" for the ridiculous amount of race-changing weapons you can get from 4th downwards. i do LIKE the game, but going from 1st to 12th in the home straight (after dominating the race for 3 laps) can put me off for days. my least favourite will always be the blue shell, but the bullet bill is not far behind.

But to offer an original idea I will nominate the Punisher from Resident Evil 4. It only has 1.9 firepower with all upgrades, (the starter handgun get 2.0) but the selling point is supposed to be that it goes through multiple enemies. *Ahem* Enemies rarely line up 5 in a row for you to take pot shots at all of them at the same time, and in those few cases you have many alternatives including the sniper rifles, shotguns, and grenades.
Shields count as enemies too. A single exclusive Punisher bullet can go through two shielded enemies. It's great for when you're going through the game "pistols only" but that's also it's only real use.

I would like to nominate the "Slicer" type of weapons from Phantasy Star Online.
I know they're there to give the hunter class a STR/ATP based ranged weapon, but they're worthless because hunters have access to handguns. Handguns are stronger, have greater range, attack faster and are more common compared to slicers.

All melee weapons = crap in FPS?? pff, i love knifing people in the back in COD4

Also in CoD4, for the guy who hates LMG, they're awesome, gettin a RPD with red dot sight and you can absolutely own people with it. I even snipe with it :D

My worst weapon? hmm Does the taser in Condemed 2 count? or the shout ...

otherwise its the whip in Rachet and clank....Waaay overated

.32 revolver from Fallout 3. I've never seen a gun quite so useless.
I didn't see the point in this gun even being in the game... when you can use the same ammo for the ol' painless or hunting rifle...

The chinese pistol was shit too. Except the special one that set people on fire was fun... for about the first three shots.

Aw but it had sentimental value coz dad gave it to you! Lol the first thing I did when I got it was to shoot him in the balls

the knife from RE4 its a nice last ditch attempt weapon but seriously the range on it is too short compared to a pitchfork or chainsaw your better off running away

It's also very awkwardly placed in the control scheme... holding L1 and stabbing it's just totally counter intuitive and feels all wrong

Dammit I wont be like them...

The rocket launcher from HL2 I don't understand the value of a rocket launcher that intentionally goes around the target and lodges itself in a nearby building.
?!!???!?!!?!

That launcher is one of the greatest weapons I've ever seen if used correctly.

Plasma pistol in halo. Amount of shots required is kill someone is ridiculous.

Actualy, I found the chinese pistol to be even worse, since you allready received a more effective 10mm weapon AT THE START OF THE GAME. To further empathise what everybody has been saying already.

If the spit in deadrising counts as a weapon, it. If not, the nerfed pistol in halo 2, one of many factors contributing to my hate of the franchise.
Ah yes.
HALO 1: "Hey cool, a magnum."
HALO 2: "Hey cool, not a magnum."

Only good thing is that you don't see them too often... for obvious reasons.

Anyways, for as far as useless weapons go, the shotgun from GTA:San Andreas is also pretty bad. I don't know about the PS2 version, but with the PC version, you HAVE to make headshots in order to do some damage. And that is kindoff hard with the shotgun, since it spreads... very much.

Also, the saturday night special from the godfather. Not that it's a bad weapon, but if I look at the other lvl. 3 upgrades in the godfater, the saturday night special doesn't come anywhere near those improvements.

Liked the way it looked though.
