I used to live in an apartment complex that was next to a Sunoco plant. Sunoco is a company that has many gas stations, and the plant holds millions of gallons of oil and gasoline.
Every now and then, the stack that burnt off the extra fumes would get backed up, and it would all release at once, creating a sound loud enough to shatter windows and shake the apartment buildings(it sounds like a bomb).
One morning(about 3am), that happened and the window next to my bed shattered, everything fell off our walls, and every car alarm in the complex went off.
