I believe in the system seller idea:
Sega Genesis: Mortal Kombat II
Sony Playstation: Crash Bandicoot
Gameboy and Gameboy color: Pokemon
Sega Dreamcast: House of the Dead 2
Playstation 2: SSX
Wii: Wii Sports
Xbox 360: Oblivion
PSP: God of War Chains of Olympus

Asystem seller is usually what puts you over the top to buy a system and not the only reason to buy it.

Playstation 3 for Gran Turismo 5 (That's been set to release the 29th of September 2010, but I guess it'll be delayed (Again..)).
Oh, and God of War 3, which I haven't bought yet o_O).

It's what they call a system seller, though it's all down to personal opinion. In truth any game you personally want is a system seller. For me it was MW2.

Lastly I might buy neither the xbox or the ps3 and just dig around for good pc games. Im looking for quality RPGs with morality systems. Doing research Ive stumbled upon Elder Scrolls Oblivion, Mass effect 1 and 2, fallout 3, bioshock 1 and 2 and dragons age origins.

I havent played any of these games, so maybe i should just save money and go though these first on my pc? If I go this route which ones should I play first?

What would you guys do?
Recommendations?
i would do this there isn't much point in buying a console just for one game. So in your situation i would just buy all these, or whatever ones you can afford because these are all great games. Although then again if you are a big fan of Fable depending on how much disposible income you have you might want to eventually look into getting a 360 for Fable 2 as the 3rd one is out at the end of this year and i think that is only going to be on xbox 360 also.

I would never do it myself. But ofc it depends on what money is worth to you. SOme peopel spend more than a console + games on a night out drinking, or on a hooker for half an hour or something.
GoW1+2 is re-released for the PS3, so theres 3 games for the PS3.
I would guess, that there'll be more console-exclusives for both console, which won't come on PC as well, and there are tons of games not released on PC as already.

Bought a PSP just for Crisis Core (and now have 4 other games, 4 movies, and 2 more games off PSN)
Bought a PS2 just for Final Fantasy X (also got XII, 6 other games, and can play all those old PS1 games I had after I made the mistake of selling my PS1)
Got a PS3 just for Final Fantasy XIII (have another 6 games, bluray, and more stuff off PSN)

I bought those mostly for those games, but I knew that I would also get another games along with it, so seems like it was worth it...

I used to think that it wasn't worth it. And depending on how much it'll hurt your budget, it may still not be. But I spent a year pining after Fable 2 and it is NOT going to be released on PC. If you really want to play it that much, go for it. And when you're done with the game, you'll have a shiny new XBox360 left over, to play as many games as you want.

If you liked Fable 1 as much as I did, you'll probably like Fable 2 as well (despite its console-based issues, such as no hot-keys for spells/items/actions).

If it's one game that gets you off the fence to buy a console, then so be it. For me it was "Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past" and "Super Metroid" for SNES, and "Final Fantasy VII" for Playstation. I simply couldn't NOT play those games. Had to do it. Was the same with Fable 2 on XBox, and now I'm glad I did because I got my fix and now have all the other games to play.

The alternative is that you could spend a lot of time (and money) chasing after games that are NOT the one you really want. Maybe you can find some gems, but it's hit or miss. A lot of games require a significant time investment - do you really want to invest all that time in a game that isn't the one you really want?

Given that so many producers are moving to console-only games, it's not the worst thing in the world to get a next-gen console, so pick whichever one has the games you want and get on with it!

I have fable 1 for the PC and really enjoyed the Morality feature in the game. Ive been waiting for a Fable 2 PC port since the game was released, but now 2 years later theres still no word on a release.
If I had to make a wild guess I'd say that the port to other formats for Fable 2 would roughly coincide with the release date of Fable 3.

I absolutely recommend at least playing Bioshock. It's not an RPG, neither does it have any kind of a morality system, but is a great game nevertheless.

And avoid Oblivion. I sank some 30-odd hours into that shallow pile of dust, and I can say, it's not worth it. The graphics were nice in 2006, but nowadays? Not so much. The game has no things to offer which haven't been done better in other games. Oblivion at least has some moral choices like "do I wanna kill a guy for this nutcase who's willing to pay me a crapload, or just turn him in?"

And I'd rather recommend borrowing a PS3 for GoW3, if you have any friends willing to do so.

Did it for Goldeneye - got a load of great games after that but without Goldeneye I would never have bought an N64.

That's the PS3 for me got it for MGS4, and GT5 which will never come out. It's good for playing dvds and blue ray but mostly for folding, the only thing stopping it from being competely pointless http://folding.stanford.edu/English/FAQ-PS3
