America is usually the bad guy and the good guy. I mean, in almost every game the CIA is a bad guy, or at least an asshole. The "surprise! US is really the bad guy" is one of the most overused tropes in videogame history. I mean, here are the list of games off the top of my head where US (usually just a section of the government, rather than the entire country itself) is a villain:
Modern Warfare 2
Spec Ops: the line
all of rockstar games.
Deus Ex series
Alpha protocol
Bad company 2
Dead Rising series
FEAR series
Fallout series
Front Mission Evolved
Halflife 1 and opposing force
Left for dead 2
State of Decay
Splinter Cell Conviction
The Division
You could arguably add Red Alert 3 as the allied campaign has you kill the US president.
Unless someone hasnt played a videogame in the past 20 years or just hasnt been paying any attention at all, I have not the slightest clue how anyone can seriously ask "would people play a game in which the US is bad guys" as that describes the vast majority of games that takes place in a modern setting.
Hell, Modern Warfare 2 alone ends with two British dudes (assisted by a Russian) wiping out an entire American special forces company and then killing its general.
