Would anyone jump ship (leave their country) if they could?

Nope.

While certainly not perfect, Denmark is a pretty nice place to live in the grand scope of things.

I'd move to Europe if they weren't pulling the "no darkies" card at the moment.
Don't be silly, as long as you avoid specific areas the vast majority of western europe couldn't give a crap what colour you are.
On topic, I live in the UK and currently have no plans to leave.

maybe i would move to japan
not because i don't like it here but because i think japan is awesome

in reality i'd never leave germany
it's one of the (socially)safest countries in the world
living standard is very high even if you don't have a job
also mild climate and nothing that would even come close to natural disasters

While I do like living in the states, if I could go somewhere with no financial and language barrier would probably go through most of Europe and Japan. What better way to decide if I like a place more than the US than first seeing what they are like?

Country
United States
I'd love to jump ship from this land that many call the US, but to where?

Maybe Italy, love that place, or maybe to Germany, again I love that place. I'm leaning towards Germany since at least I can speak German, not that great, but it's a start.

I'd love to leave London to go to the US. Preferably to some large city, with a nearby beach, and for it to be sunny a lot.
So if anyone wants to swap, let me know :D
I want to go to sunny California too

With the politics in America, I'd like to leave the US. It's not heading down a good route. I want to have my honeymoon in Italy so...

But then again, I'd like to be somewhere with crystal clear blue water and white sand beaches.
You have crystal clear blue water and sand beaches already in the States. I think you meant to say "I'd like to be somewhere with intelligent and fair democratic leadership, which ideally also has crystal clear blue water and sand beaches." Good luck with that. Europe's banks are in the sh*t just now though too. I would look into Italian politics before making a decision. :)

OT: The state of the country you are in varies depending on who is in leadership at the time. Things change. Would I want to be in the states right now? No. They will have to fix things though. Eventually it should get at least a little better and then would you go back? What happens when you politics in your new country get messed up? Will you go to a third country? I think this is relevant to most first-world countries. Stay where you are and stop complaining. Unless you live in Syria or somewhere with similar problems, you really don't realize how good you've got it.

You can't just 'move to another country' anyway. It's not like moving to another city. Canada at least, I doubt would take you in. What would you claim? Refugee status? Could you really stand in line behind a Syrian and say that?

We have a points system here which sucks anyway. Essentially you have to have higher education in a field we need. For instance, we need doctors. If you are a doctor, you would get enough points that we would take you in. Then you could either redo ALL your schooling so we will accept it and you can work here as a doctor or you can drive a cab for the rest of your life. But you could drive a cab LEGALLY in CANADA! WOOT! If you don't have any serious education and experience in a field we need though, tough. We don't just take in Americans because they are mad at their goverment.

I live in Canada and although things aren't as bad as in the states, we have our share of idiotic American ass kissing politicians. I wouldn't cling too close to my love of public health care for instance. You would think we wouldn't want to follow the states off a cliff, but "ZOMG they are our biggest export customers and their border is attached to ours! Quick do everything they say!" seems to be all our conservative government seems to do. I don't think the solution is leaving though.

Eventually, like always, the cuts will go too far and we will put a liberal or NDP in government to give it back to us. Then we will want more money and tax breaks start looking good, so we elect another conservative. *repeat until you're physical body dies.

Yeah, I want to graduate from the academy, and then me and my friends are going to jump ship, and join the Rebel Alliance. The Galaxy is changing, and I want to be on the side I believe in!

Yup, I'd leave England for somewhere else (New Zealand looks rather fine) much as I'd leave the sinking Titanic for a warm blanket on the Carpathia. Which amounts to pretty much the same thing.

I live in Canada (Calgary, specifically), and I'm honestly pretty happy here. I'd be most likely to move within the country. Vancouver and Montreal hold the most appeal. Though, that isn't even very likely.

That said, places I'd consider living: Berlin (financial barrier), Tokyo (financial, language barriers), Stockholm (financial, language), maaaaaaaaybe Hong Kong (financial, language), maaaaybe New York (no real barriers), maaaaaaybe San Francisco (ditto)... though I don't really want to live in the US, as cool as those cities are.

I'm definitely a "city-slicker" or whatever. Rural, town, or excessively suburban living don't really agree with me.

I've thought about moving to Canada. I still need some more research and I'm not sure, but if something happened here in the US it would be my first choice.

I do like Canada but I do not really like Toronto. I would like to live on Vancouver Island my pefrence would be Victoria or in Calgary.
but if I had to leave Canada then I would either go to New Zealand or the UK. I would like to go to Australia but it is too hot for my liking. All those places have lovely accents.

Yeah. I like Ireland a lot, but I aim to move to a Scandinavian country after I graduate. That place really calls to me.
