If you had happened to read the first post it told you what the thread was about, and very very few people seems to have read it...

I don't think this would solve problems though, the waking up one day with symbols on our forehead that displayed our moods and such, or other such things that display to the world our intentions. I could see many wars breaking out because government officials couldn't hide very important things from each other, though much less based off suspicion of such things. Criminals may be less, but those we would have would be rather extreme or very good at hiding the symbols or what have you in a nonchalant way.

Nope, it's just that threads like these will attract trolls rather than intellectual debate; which is what I imagined your post to be about. There are a number of ways to do it apart from mine, but as you can probably see...it's turning from an intellectual debate into "I really hate X because..."

Anyway, on topic. The world would be better without science telling us we are all going to die. Science is all fine and dandy when its curing cancer and making sure we don't float off into the sky but it gets a bit irritating when it's constantly telling me im killing the world. It's not my fault the ozone layer has decided to fuck off!

Now if you will excuse me I'm going to go pour a couple of vats of crude oil onto a beach.

And what is this all of a sudden argument about 100% enforced honesty being the be all and end all of human conflict? That would take all the masks off and not allow ANYONE to be friends- because people would be able to see that which we accept but DO NOT LIKE ABOUT THEM. That argument is totally bogus.

Also, just because someone is AFRAID of political power does not make them the best person to be placed in charge of governmental direction. People who are afraid of power might not ABUSE said power, but they also are hesitant to USE the power when circumstances call for decisive action.

I guess not everyone has friends that are completely honest. Well, you'd soon find out what a wonderful thing it is.

And of course people who don't want power make better leaders than those who do, maybe not perfect, but better, especially if they're the kind of person who'd run in an election.

Who's stupid depends on your viewpoint, someone else probably considers you stupid.

I would'nt make it a mark, what's a mark going to do? it won't stop crime, criminals already know it causes pain and suffering against others.

I would have sort of power of empathy that everyone has so people share each others feelings when they come into contact, so if someone hurts someone else they will feel their pain, fear and anguish and if someone is happy they would be able to share that feeling with others.

I may have mangled it slightly, and I think it's a Dr Johnson quote- but the meaning is simple enough. Human relationships require a few white lies and the odd bit of dissembling to function. If you take that away, human interaction, and eventually society, crumbles.

Besides everyone knows politicians are liars, it's quicker to assume their full of it, and nine times out of ten you'll be right. That's why the news that Boris Johnson was mayor of London made me grin- at least he's entertaining, in a very buffoonish way.
