Be honest with yourself, would you be able to not touch ANYTHING game related for an entire year, not even mini games on your phone.

If not, in what case would you do so?

A whole year? Oh hell, I wouldn't know about that. I love games in all their forms, from sports to videogames. Nothing of the sort... I mean I can last a while with books, comics, TV shows and movies, but a year? That'd be dull. A few weeks is easy enough though.

Nope, wouldn't last a month without TV, games, music etc. I could probably go a week if I had a some nice books and a comfy bed.

Nope, not a bloody chance. I'd probably go mad and think I was actually in a GTA game and begin running over people in a golf cart. And the only way I'd stop gaming for a year is if I was put in a mental institution with padded walls and no electrical sockets. :D

Hell no! Unless you gave me huge incentive not to do so, I see no possible way for me not to play video games for a year.

It's subjective for me.

If there is else nothing to do that I find entertaining and don't get the blues, then it's possible otherwise no.

That would be impossible for me to do. Granted I could try since it will force me to try other activity like reading abook, learn how to draw and watch films (I will be doing this alot) however the whole point of playing a game is to escape boredom (and to have fun) which those activities will surely lead to.

I wouldn't last less than a year, I would end up playing an internet game or ipod touch game even if my Wii and Xbox were taken.

Depends highly on what's at stake. Anything less than life or a monstrous fine and I wouldn't be able to stop. Besides, Skyrim's coming out in about 5 months!

Sort of.....My dad is forcing me not to play on consoles until 4th of July since Easter, and I though that I could do it.

I'm still spending time on my iPhone and internet time on iPad. Yeah, I'm not too good at this.

But really, no. To just give it up and have it in the house, there is no way I could last the month. Maybe a week, at max.

Could I last a year without video games? Sure.
I'd still have table top rpgs, card games, board games.
If somehow all those were off limits--
I have music, working out, fencing
Also books, TV, films

And then I have work, lots of work

i might be able to do it, but i'd be hibernating the whole time. there's no way i'd last even a week if i had to be awake during the day.
actually it sounds like an interesting challenge...

Yes. Happily so.

Games detract from who I am when I'm not careful. They prevent me from reading, studying, and drawing. I become, without fail, an uninteresting lump whenever I do decide to fall back into playing them.
