I was chatting to some friends and to trick them, i posted a scary .gif, my friend saw it, freaked out then replied with some of the most disturbing things i have ever seen... At least they were supposed to be, but i didn't think they were disturbing, more funny than anything. So, would you consider yourself de-sensitized by the internet?

No, I still cringe at most gruesome internet videos, and I had nightmares when I got meat spin'd.

If you want to see how de-sensitized you are, there's an page on the encyclopedia dramatica called offended or something like that. I did not care enough to go looking.

I am for somethings, but not others.

I looked. And laughed.

Likewise. It really depends on the subject matter, but I'm not even entirely sure if it's due to the internet or due to other experiences in my life.

Not really. I mean, there are a few things that still make me shudder. But for the large part, I'm pretty good with anything. I've read a lot of horror stories (fiction and non-fiction) and seen what the Holocaust did first hand to some people.

Yeah, if you want a fun afternoon and dont mind losing a few nights sleep, go talk to an elderly home of Holocausts survivors and ask them if they want to talk about it. Helps if you look Polish/Pollock. If I liked German, I think i might have scared the hell out of them.

I'm desensitized to pixels coloured to look like blood "splattering", but I'm quite certain the real thing would still have a fairly strong effect.

*shudders*

I still have nightmares from that.

The worst part is, they sucker you in with a picture of a cat wearing a lemon peel on it's head, and then...I...I don't want to discuss anymore.

I've got a strong gut, so, you won't see me disgusted by most things on the internet.

But, in real life, now that's a different story......

Well, I keep thinking I am, and then I wind up back on the Offended Page for some reason or another and I realise I'm not.
Heh, I kinda remember the post you made here after the first time you went there.
I only made 1/4 of the way through the page.

Uhm... kinda. I don't like the site of gore and god knows when I'll get over that. But on the other hand, I laughed the first time I saw 2 girls 1 cup...
