Yea, so long as it's done well and is a good game. Though I don't see many game companies making England out to be the 'bad guys' much...we'd rather be drinking tea!
Yeah most game companies much prefer us as the American side kick...

It's usally America having a boxing match with the Russians or Germens and we're there in the Yank corner with water shouting out support... Poshly.
Yep true. But I don't like that (as true as it may be in real life) In war games we should be remembered for our huge empire we once had!
I completly agree someone need's to make a game about the victories we've had. Even games based on The world wars don't have much to do with the British, But I would love to see a game that focusing on some sort of English victory as there are 100's to chose out of.

OT: ive never played a game where america is depicted as bad but i wouldnt have any opposition to playing it, as long as it's a good game i'm alright with it.
Never played dead rising? MW2 America is kinda the bad guy, but just because their confused. Fallout games where the government is crazy evil?
Actually I don't think there are any games that make America out to be evil, and their are very few that make other COUNTRIES evil either. In total war, civilizations whatever theres no real evil countries just countries you want to kill. Games against Nazis aren't against Germany, their against Nazis although Nazis once controlled Germany they are used to represent basic evil people. You could play a game against skinheads in america? or for example racists in america? But very rarely are their games that make actual countries out to be evil. Please give me examples if there actually are some though.
Correction, i forgot Dead Rising and Prototype. I dont count MW2 because they were attacked 1st. And the enclave isnt the real american goverment its a shadow version.

And your right games against nazis arent against garmany but i once met a racist 12 years old on XBL who thought that because of WW2, germany should be destroyed. People on XBL make me want to obliterate the earth before we as a speices can spread off this world.

Exactly! CoD4 came close considering you spent half of it with the British guys but it still felt like an American win to me. But we have got a lot of victories to choose from so game developers can simply take their pick

Of course! I'm open minded, I don't care countries or nations. We are all people man. And seriously, it would be good for games. How many times we've killed russians or middle eastern?

Regarding MW2's plot..

Wasn't the American general the bad guy in the end because he went rogue? I forgot his name. Shepard or something. But he shot Ghost and Roach in order to cover it up, so while the Russians appeared to be the bad guys, they were more or less the victims since they believed America was responsible for the massacre at the Russian airport which wasn't exactly true since Makarov was the major player.

I wouldn't worry about it, in fact, it'd be refreshing to go up against my own countrymen. Games and movies are only media and stories after all, i don't get upset because all the imperials in Star Wars have British accents.

North Korea in Mercenaries.
Albanians in GTA4.
Russia in Freedom Fighters.
North Korea is kind of the definition of evil...so I guess thats right with the, oppression, no public rights, and death for any reason. However since NK is controlled by one man you could say that it is just against their leader, because he is the one controlling everything and is the source of oppression and evil.
GTA4 the Albanians are just as much the bad guys as you are so you could say Mexicans too. But its really just against Albanian gangsters, unless your saying all Albanians are gangsters like in GTA4?
No idea about Freedom Fighters so you got me there.

Iraq War: The Video Game. Britain and America, two greedy, corrupt nations invading a country barely out of the stone age for their resources in the name of a Christian god who was invented in the middle east.

HELL YEAH! Though I doubt that fucking DENMARK will ever be the bad guy in a game xD
Denmark as the bad guy? That idea... it's awesome. If I were a game developer, Denmark would be my bad guy. You know why? Because nobody ever thought "So, the big World War III is coming. Who might be responsible? ...Wait... that can't be... Denmark...?!"

Hey, what about games that just take some random country to be the bad guy? -Ireland! New Zealand! The possibilities are endless! -But you only named two... -Austria! India! Portugal!

A game where Canada is the villain? Hell yes, if out of sheer blatant curiousity as to how they justify it!

I'm surprised that I haven't played more/any games where the UK are bad guys...
I suppose a game about Ghandi/Africa/The early years of the Commonwealth (before it was formed) would set is firmly as the Bad Guys...but I don't think I've played a game where we are...
Normally just the "sidekick" or main character.

OT: Yes I would...the hilarity if a non-UK developer made it...bad accents, stereotypes, attempts at whit and sarcasm...
It'd be the best thing since...

You know, I think I could.

Firstly, all the soldiers I've killed in-game - Russian, German, Chinese, Korean, American - all start to blend together after a while. They're just grunts in uniform.

Secondly, I come from Australia. The idea of an Australia so large and powerful that it's the major bad guy in a war is kind of awesome.

It goes without saying it'd have to be a good game, like Modern Warfare. I wouldn't play something purely so that I'd get to shoot my countrymen.

Frankly, I think it's past due someone made a game like that. As in, a major title.
They actually blend together. Play multiplayer with a few friends; then look at their ethnicity after they die. I was white, then black, and then somehow became asian. bit of a jump there.

I wouldn't want to play a game like that, solely because I know I would be royally screwed. I live in America, the country that spends the most money on its overgrown military. Not only do we have the best innovative weapons (To the point where colleges have offered courses like military technology, I saw it on an application, I kid you not) And the country who ]invented the nuclear bomb. And the hydrogen bomb. So I don't really think that's so much a war game as an ass kick simulator.

Surely everyone from the US who played MW2 has done?

I mean the Americans were the villians it that game, you fight American forces in the last two levels. The Big Bad is a US general for crying out loud.
That, and they practically destroy the White House, Washington Monument, and various other symbols of the US.
I don't think "WWII: The Nazi Side" would be a good idea, but yeah, a game where your country is the bad guys sounds a tad bit cool.
