Would you ever get rid of your Television?

I don't think I watched something for more than 15 minutes in the lats few months. If I want a movie, I download it in HD. And without dubbings. No Polish series interest me anymore, and English ones are 99% of the time dubbed by 1 person reading the script.

Everything else, news, weather - Internet is here.

Haven't really been watching TV in the last few years. I don't even have a TV in my apartment, I play games, or go outside(!) if I get too bored. There's mostly no good shows on it either, and I doubt I'm missing something

When, in a few years time, when 32"+ O-LED TVs are commercially available, this question would be rediculous.

The TV I use for my consoles is a CRT set from the mid Nineties. I'll only get rid of it if it breaks. I'm not one to ditch something that works fine, just so I can get something shiny and new instead.

The only way I'd get rid of my TV is if I were to get a new one. Even then, I wouldn't throw it away. I'd probably sell it.

My TV is 42". My computer screen is 22". I'd like to keep my PS3 hooked up on the former thank you very much.

However, would I ditch cable? Perhaps. I barely watch TV save for the occasional movie, but I do like National Geographic, Animal Planet and Discovery Channel every now and then. Maybe even a bit o' Comedy Central. But I could download most cool stuff anyway, so cable might be redundant.

Yeah console gaming on a tv with friends is too fun, a computer falls alittle short in this department, canceling cable maybe but the TV needs to stay

I wouldn't lose my TV because it's much better to play Xbox 360 on a TV than a monitor. However, I'm sure I wouldn't mind losing the ability to watch TV. One time, our cable was disconnected for a week and I didn't even notice.

I gave away my 28" Sony CRT when I got my new TV and because I stopped using it for gaming years ago, when I got my 360 which I plugged that into a spare CRT monitor I had lying around for HD graphics, but I would never get rid of my current TV, which is a fancy 32" Samsung LCD, because even if I didn't use it for my 360 there's plenty of good quality free TV stations it can pick up and I can also use the TV to surf the internet and play media files.

Incidentally, in America do you need to pay for a subscription to get a TV signal... are there any free channels or the equivalent of Freeview/Freesat, or is cable the only viable way to get a clear TV signal?

I still have a tv for gaming and occasionally watching movies with my family, but we haven't had cable in years. I watch TV and movies online mostly.
