I would get rid of any of the 4 TVs in this house in a heartbeat because 1) I'm a PC gamer and I never watch TV, and 2) none of them belong to me, so anything I get in exchange short of the asskicking of a lifetime is 100% profit.

Still have a TV, but no cable, only for consoles (Mario wanted it that way).

Yes, and as soon as I move out I probably won't have a cable or satellite subscription anyway. I rarely watch T.V and my consoles can all be plugged into my monitor.

Well, no.

As a console gamer I need a TV screen (preferably HD) to play my games ofc. Though my computer screen can be used as TV screen as well. So I could throw it out, but I won't! because I can't be bothered switching the cables from console to PC all the time.

So, would you ever do this? Or have you already?
I haven't watched TV channels of any kind in my own home since 2002. There's no way I'd ever pay for TV access. TV doesn't suit my lifestyle - I simply can't get my shit together to be at home at a certain time every week to catch a favourite show. I prefer the convenience of DVDs and YouTube - I can watch things when I have the time to watch them. I like my media to conform to my timetable, not the other way around.

I canceled my cable last week, actually, due to me having watched about 10 minutes of a weather channel since February. It's only $25 extra dollars a month for basic cable, but it's $25/mo I'd rather have in my pocket.

Sad fact is that I like to channel surf to find new and interesting things on the tv. Would miss out on a lot if we got rid of it.

I did that year ago, I don't have TV in my house, nor Box, antenna I got my Computer (table+lap top) and 1M internet connection, I'm happy, and best of all, no commercial brakes.

Yes, especially since the few shows I watch once a week are bound to be uploaded online somewhere.

If I was in your shoes? Of course. I watch most movies online, I rarely watch TV and if I could hook my Xbox up to the Monitor, I wouldn't have any use for them.

I could get rid of the BBC!
I honestly can't remember the last time I watched a BBC made show, and as I have to pay them £120 a year for that privilege I'd be more than happy to be rid of them!

Hah.. Haven't had a TV for several years. Sometimes I wish I had one, but meh.. I would only get like 5% of my entertainment from it anyways.

Once I finish my education and get a real life I'll probably get a TV, but only to have something to offer to guests ; )

I only use my Tv for watching football and playing my 360/PS2, I could easily give it up. No way would I pay the Tv license if I lived on my own.
