Would you kill or something else?

I'd take the gun, kick out the back of his legs, hold the gun to his head, act like I'm going to kill him, wait untill he brakes down...
Then I'd call the cops and keep him there, crying for his life. Let them take him away. Maybe vist him a few times afterwards, see how he's getting on. He might change, might show remorse, he might not. If the former, good. If the latter, he'll learn, next time he goes back to kill again.

... Sure, it isn't particularly bad-ass, but it's probably what I would do. Maybe you don't belive me when I say that, given that the dude just killed my parents - but other people have gotten over their family being murdered, and eventualy made friends with the killer. No, really. If they can do it, I can't see why I shouldn't.

How would someone without their eyes successfully take my eyes?
I don't think you quite got the saying/meaning of it >.>
They take an eye, you take an eye, someone else takes an eye, and so on, until everyone is out of eyes.
It doesn't go on until everyone is out of eyes. It goes on until one person is left with at least one eye. And do you know what we call this person?
Winner!
:p
"In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king."

OT: I would likely kill him. I've always wanted to kill a man. :D If I was seething mad, I would just kill him outright. If more calm, I would alert him, ask him his name, why he would do such a thing, etc., then kill him.
Either way, I would give a little prayer that he went to whatever place he deserved.

No big loss, in my case he'd actually be doing me a favor. Glad I never had to live with either of them growing up. Maybe get him a beer or something, I guess.

I'd make him suffer, and by suffer I mean I'd have him literally begging for death.

I must say, "lol" at all the people who think shooting people in the leg is how you stop criminals getting away, and keep them alive. You watch way too many action movies guys. A shot to the leg can kill you just as easily as a shot to the stomach. If you shoot a gun, you shoot to kill. Secondly, shooting someone in the leg doesn't paralyse them. People can still run away - you'd be surprised.

Yeah I'd kill the person. Maybe. Actually I might not. Who knows? You'd have to be in that position and you wouldn't really think about it.
Well that way you at least TRIED to keep him alive. I mean, I wouldn't deliberately kill him, and shoot him in the head or something like that, but I won't be too upset if he dies after being shot in the leg.

Something I haven't seen pointed out yet - if you really wanted to take the "eye for an eye" concept to its logical conclusion, you'd have to kill his parents in front of him.

Not that I'd take it that far, of course...personally I'd just shoot the guy and be done with it.

I would try to shoot him in the spine or some area that would crucially affect his life but not kill him and then call the police. Although I bet I would lack that accuracy and composure.

Although I see revenge and retribution as always morally repugnant since it derives from subjective emotional responses, when it came down to it I would probably lose it and kill the bastard. Ideally I would run away/escape with minimal harm involved for either of us.

Aim for the base of his spine.
One bullet for each shoulder.
A bullet through each hand.
Shoot his knees for good measure.
Gag him.
Hide him in the trunk of my car and place a heavy object on him, like a heavy wooden trunk (yo dawg, i heard you like trunks...) before the police arrive.
Tell the police that the killer got away.
Open the trunk, feed him dog food.
Keep him alive indefinitely.
Have him talk about his family, his children, their favorite songs, their favorite foods...
Go to his house, befriend his family.
Tell him about how his family and I are becoming fast friends.
Find out about his parents from his family.
Become friends with his parents.
Tell him about how his parents are doing.
Answer calls from his family and parents in front of him.

I could go on for ages, but I'd run out of room.
If there is even the slightest bit of truth to any of the above about your reaction, then bravo, I applaud you for your creativity.

As for myself, I feel I would struggle not to torture him before I took his life, let alone just killing him.

Allowing him to live (especially if it is in a severely wounded manner) would just be a waste of tax money keeping his pathetic ass in jail and giving him medical treatment.

The death penalty was removed due to cases in which people could be innocently killed (as a major reason at least). Here there will be no confusion as to his guilt and I certainly doubt I would feel any remorse or guilt for whatever happened to him.

I'd shoot him in the leg to wound him. Then when he's helpless I'll shoot his trigger fingers off completely. I won't kill but I'll make sure he suffers for what he did and that he can't do it to anyone else.

Well...i say this, but if he just killed them right then and there I reckon I would cap him in the heat of the moment.

I'll shoot him in the groin region, then throw him out on the street and phone the police. See if they can find him before he bleeds out.

If I have the opportunity to cripple him I'd do it. If I miss, and/or he's too far off to get a reliable shot on a limb, I aim for the center of mass.

Far too many criminals get away, even if caught and brought to trial, for me to take chances with one that affected me personally. Torturing him as others have suggested would be satisfying, but would not be just.

Id probably shoot him right in the chest. If i was being more rational I'd shoot him in the shoulder then blow out his kneecaps. Stopping him from ever walking again would be soothing.

I'd love to think that I would simply hold him at gunpoint while I rang the police, but I'd probably actually lose my temper and empty the gun into him. And then throw things at the body and stab him and...yeah I'd probably just totally lose my shit.

I'm not a pacificist by any standards, but i don't believe i have the right to take a life. Unless he's threatening me (or a loved one... or my cat), then i'd probably let him live. Ezio said it best. "Killing you won't bring my family back"

That said, after watching the cold blooded murder of my parents, i'm not sure how well that logic would hold up when sheer mind-numbing anger sets in.
