the pope (just my preference i have no problem with christians until they shove it down my throat)
i could kill some people i hated but not a random or someone i liked.
The pope is Catholic, mate. There's a difference between Catholicism and Christianity. The most basic being that Christians don't believe the pope is genuine and that if you hear the voice of god you're probably mental.
Catholicism is a branch of christianity, I think your thinking of protestants, they are both christain.

It depends on the person, on how I'm going to die if I don't kill them, how I have to kill them, whether people will know, what I had for breakfast that morning etc.

I need more information, man.

Well you left it kind of vague...

But in most situations I think I could and would do it.

if the only option left was to murder (and there's never only one option left), then yes I would.

Actually I wouldn't, since such a scenario won't occur.

I wouldn't just kill them, I'd eat their heart to gain their courage, their tasty courage!

Everyone can have his own answer. But in the end when it comes down to it, your animal instinct for survival will kick in when you realize there's just no other way.

You will kill your wife. Your girlfriend. You mom. Dad. Dog. Anyone to stay alive if it was the only option.
Not only is this generalisation, but also wrong.
Just because you would, or even the majority of humans, doesn't mean everyone would. People have sacrificed themselves for others you know, which throws your argument off balance, doesn't it?
From your statement, it seems your relation with family hasn't been that good, and you haven't known complete love for anyone. (Correct me if I'm wrong [But not in a douchey way as some people do] because that's only a guess). Many people would die for their loved ones, and many have. Hell, for parents it's pretty much a requirement.

OT: Depends on the circumstance, and who.

I think I would, because ultimately my life is more important to me than someone else's (except maybe for family members - including my dogs). Of course it all depends on the circumstances and who that other person is.

I get where you're coming from, and if you were to really ask me, I'd say I'd kill myself first. But I know how the animal instinct works because i've seen it in action. Though in a somewhat different scenario. So I wouldn't be surprised that if the moment would truely come that the instinct will take over. Note that your animal instincts aren't bound by emotions or affections.

Example. You're in a cave. No hope of food or water. You're with your wife. Eventually, you'll eat eachother. Morals are only there because we have the luxery to have them. Take that luxery away and we revert back to the pure animal that we actually are.

Atleast. That's my perspective on things.

Also, I have a great relationship with my parents thanks for asking;p you have a point with 'love' though since my previous girlfriend is well...let's not get into that xD

quick edit: parents sacrificing themselves for their children is also an animal instict. If not then most species would have died out long ago.

I might find myself able to kill to preserve my own life, but never murder. There is a difference.

This is a vague question. Using the term murder with no other context leads me to assume that this means you are threatened with death from someone else unless you kill this other person. If you are getting at something along the lines of "kill or be killed" and/or just survival, you should state that, as both situations may merit different responses.

No doubt. I would kill to save myself. Probably would still do it if it was family or a friend because in their eyes it would most likely be the same situation for them. Its kill or be killed.

It depends on the person. If they were trying to kill me than I'd probably kill that person no matter who it was (a couple people are the exception). If it was 'kill this person or I'll kill you', it'd still depend on the person, my murder criteria would just be significantly lower/higher (the number of people I'd rather die than kill in this situation increases significantly).
