Would you name your kid after a video game character?

Only if the character actually had a realistic name. I wouldn't want to burden my child by naming him something stupid for my own amusement.

I would name my child Master Cheif. You would have to say Master Cheif every time to. That would get pretty freaking annoying after a while.

I'd name my son Leon, but I don't want to catch myself checking out my own kid. That just sets him up for failure anyway, since no one can ever be that beautiful. Besides, regardless of how luscious Leon is, I'm not 100% behind that name. Who knows. When it comes to this stuff, characters from books have a deeper place in my heart, like Phineas from 'A Separate Peace'. Thinking of girl names is impossible.

I'd sooner name a dog Marston than my child though.

Hello all,

many have games whose characters hold a special meaning to us, or just have cool names. Hypothetically, I was wondering if you had a son or daughter would you name them after a video game character? If so who? Why that person?

I already have three names picked out, if a girl: Revan, if a boy Carth or Morgan

Note: yes i know the chances of me getting laid are as likely as being able to traverse mutter's spiral in a segway in time for lunch tomorrow. That is why this is a hypothetical question. So rather than reminding me of this fact, could you please just indulge me in this question

Well I used to like the name Jade (from Beyond Good and Evil) but then Big Brother happened and ruined it.
Garrus (Mass Effect) might be a good name for a boy or Garrett (Thief).

My reasoning being that Jade was a stong female character with a lot of charm. Garrus... well I just like the name and Garrett was a sarcastic git which pretty much matches up to how I imagine my child being.
