Sure, as long as it's not too weird. I mean no one would bat an eye at my kid if named him Jack after Bioshock's protagonist. Lloyd might get a "huh" or two, but no one would suspect that I named him after Lloyd Irving of Tales of Symphonia.

Yes, and I did. So what? It's not like it's some kind of outlandish name (Pilot Inspektor anyone?). Really kind of sad the number of people who giggle about the mere thought of it. Do you really want to see an endless row of Jennifers, Davids and Brians in the world? Boring!

I might consider it, but only if it was a reasonably realistic-sounding name. Alyx or Raine? Yes. Zelos or Eliwood? Maybe. Praxis or Morrigan? Heck no (though they still sound cool).

If I did this I would have to abandon my plan on calling my first-born Chekhov in hopes that it would become important to him in later life.
would that be Anton Chekov, the acclaimed russian short-story writer, or Pavel Chekov, the weapons officer from Star Trek: The Origional Series?

Both are awesome namesakes!
Anton Chekhov. I'm not much of a star trek fan.

No.

I was going to say that I might give a child a name which was coincidentally that of a character of a game, but it's not the same thing.

No, I wouldn't.

Middle name only. Even a normal name like Jack. If it's intended as a reference, it belongs in the middle name only.

Raziel. Or if Im feeling especially mean gazing down at my plum red newborn: Melchiah. Dunno for a girl, if I went for Maria from Castlevania, people would think it was a normal name but I'd know the real reason behind...wait a minute...WESKER. Don't care about gender just, WESKER.

'Seven minutes. Seven minutes is all I can spare to play with you'.

I didn't even want kids but now I MUST!

Hello all,

I already have three names picked out, if a girl: Revan, if a boy Carth or Morgan
The only problem with naming a girl 'Revan' will make people that have never played KotoR think you misspelled 'Raven' on the birth certificate.

Maybe but as far as I'm concerned I would rather get it out of my baby names book, which is the appendix of A Feast for Crows (because it is the most complete listing of characters as of now). Don't look at me like that, George RR Martian created some very cool names.

Only if the character actually had a realistic name. I wouldn't want to burden my child by naming him something stupid for my own amusement.
What he said.
Yeah waluigi is a silly name, now Wario, much more sensible!

In all seriousness, game influences are good, but within the realms of sensibility is nice :)
