Would you rather travel with The Doctor in the Tardis, or travel with Spock on The Enterprise?

Han Solo in the Millennium Falcon. Star Wars universe is best universe.

Imagine a long journey with Spock.

Me: "Lets listen to some tunes."

Spock: "That would be illogical. Extraneous noise causes concentration to degrade to a dangerous level. Furthermore..."

Red shirted bloke, looking busy in background: "Mr.Spock?"

Spock: "Yes?"

Red shirted bloke, looking busy in background: "He walked out pretty much the second you started talking."

Another vote for the Doctor from me.

If I travelled with the doctor, I could go forward and time and visit Spock on the enterprise. Problem solved.

Definitely the Doctor. I'd much rather instantly travel to any point in time and space than live short and not prosper just before my boredom-caused suicide (I find Spock to be one of the most boring SciFi characters ever).

Ok, I don't watch either of these shows, but I think I'd rather be stuck on a starship than crammed in a phone booth with another guy (the Tardis is a phone booth, right?).
Its a police box. Totally different beast.

Anyways, to the question. I think I have an idea as to where the op was going with this. I mean, no argument, the Doctor is an interesting traveling companion who could literally go anywhere and anywhen he wanted. Of anything he is a loud character and even the sixth one had charisma to him.

Meanwhile, Spock is unemotional and anti-charismtic, and the Enterprise, while a well-built ship, can only be in certain places, and can't travel in time.

However, something that has gone unmentioned, and this is important in relating to others, is the fact that Spock isn't going to treat you like a kid. In fact, he's not a domineering person. Stubborn, sure, but dogmatic? Not really.

Th Doctor, even the more 'human' incarnations like the fifth or the tenth ones, can be quite dogmatic. Before someone comments on his shifty morality, he isn't a moral absolutist (chaotic good done right), but he can be quite preachy.

Another character trait that can't be subscribed to Spock: arrogance. It comes with the territory, but still, it takes gall to say to a room full of panicky people "I'm a nine hundred year old time lord, that's why you do as I say."

Lastly, Spock doesn't regenerate. What you see (a green-blooded elf with super strength whose heart is located under his armpit) is what you get (seven year itch notwithstanding) and always what you get. The Doctor... well, Whovians remember Rose's freak-out in Christmas Invasion when the Doctor changed form and personality? He went from being a sever leather-clad baldy with two hearts to a giggly fetishized autistic with two hearts. Something to consider.

Both are smart rationalists, and both will cover your back in the hairier moments, but the question stands.

I'd go with the Doctor, though I note reasons why someone might travel with Spock.

The Doctor all the way. Anywhere in time and space, yes please. Not to mention that both The Doctor and Captain Jack are both on my '5 people it's ok to be with' list :D (My wife pointed out that it is a bit odd that I have men on my list)

Spock and the Enterprise are both boring. The Doctor and the TARDIS are both amazing.

No contest at all.

Well, let's see. I know more about Dr. Who then Star Trek, but from what I understand:

The Doctor: Awesome force of nature, yet extremely devoted to care-free, almost childish way of life, exploring the universe in search of adventure.

Spock: Purely intellectual, probably doesn't even understand the concept of "fun", not a force of nature.

The Enterprise: Normal spaceship, vulnerable to attack, can NOT travel through time.

TARDIS: The last of it's kind, almost completely invincible, can travel in time.

Yeah, this one's pretty easy. I choose the Doctor, in case it's not obvious.

Police Box. Waaaay different. Also:

Way more fun than a boring old spaceship.

I dunno. The doctor's travels tend to have you potentially be mentally tortured, but then again you usually survive as long as you don't do anything stupid while with spock 90% of the time your a red shirt who dies horribly from the monsters.

I guess the doctor because I don't know much about star trek, but know a lot about doctor who.

If I got to be captain, the Enterprise with Spock would be amazing. Being Kirk literally consists of sleeping with women, shooting things, and being smug... and that wouldn't really get old ever.

The Doctor can be kind of iffy. Sometimes he sucks and sometimes he's awesome. Spock is an amazing being whose mind is in constant turmoil and yet he is helpful and loyal to the grave.

Plus I'd get really pissed if I had to deal with other companions like Amy and Rory. They both have honestly ruined the newer episodes for me.

I'd rather travel with Spock.

No offence to the Doctor, but the shenanigans he gets up to is downright horrific to imagine sometimes. I still think of the episode with the tenth Doctor on Mars with the infected people leaking water... ugh, that episode creeps me the hell out.

At least with Spock it'd be mostly relaxing.

This is so one sided, of course the Doctor, although which Doctor and which Spock are we talking? I mean traveling with the sexy Tennant or Smith Doctors would be much more appealing than the rest. Then there's Zachary Quinto's Spock, and well, I might have a thing for Quinto, so, um, did I make this weird?

With the Doctor it's a very high risk/high reward scenario, but all of time and space is way too good to pass up. TARDIS al the way.

Definatly The Doctor in the Tardis. I never really liked Spock. But I always will love Start Trek.

You forget that even as Quinto's Spock, he would only be likely to return any romantic leaning's during Pon Farr which (correct me if I'm wrong) only happens once every 7 years, best to stick with the Doctor ;)

For me I'd say the Doctor hands down. Depends which one though, if it's not Tennant or Smith's incarnations I'm ignoring both him and Spock and jumping aboard the Enterprise-D instead :D

I'd much rather travel with Spock & Kirk on the Enterprise, if only because I'm a much bigger fan of Star Trek(and Spock) than I am of Doctor Who(and the Doctor).
