I am scared of zombie games, so I think I would die so easily, unless I had someone interested in my survival telling me what to do. Otherwise, I would kill myself as soon as I realised there would be no help for me.

If I had some kind of warning I could, and seeing that I am within a stone throws distance from a military base, I would not have to worry about huge hordes of zombies since many would be taken out by Airmen, Soldiers and Marines packing assault rifles.
I have a stockpile ready with enough food, water and ammo to last me for years. Basiclly Berk's stockpile from tremors 3.
I'm in a fairly isolated area, so that would (hopefully) keep me safe for a while. However, if my loved ones were to become zombies, I'd make it my mission to kill 'em. Don't want them wandering around in pain for the rest of their unnatural lives. (Assuming Zobbies are in pain :L )
Chances of survival? I'm fairly certain I could deal with it emotionaly but I wouldn't stand much of chance in a fight. We have plenty of guns here but my shot isn't that great. :/

Taking the screaming would really bother me only if it prevented me from sleeping and once you are exhausted, your body shuts down regardless of noise anyway.
If I have to watch my loved ones getting eaten, It would mean either that something got fucked up and the zombies are running around in close vicinity, which means I am pretty much dead too or that my loved ones are also pretty stupid ones and did something idiotic which got them eaten.
Finally why shouldnt I be able to stay in house where ppl commited a suicide? If I have to move from my house there is a good chance I will see half eaten people everywhere. That is in my opinion much worse.
So, sanity? No problem. Means to survive? (equipment, weapons ...) ... got none.

Mentally? Eh, who knows. I figure if my family and I could hold out together, I'd be alright. I could have a lot of fun with a hardware store. So long as I can cut them down or blast them apart with guns, I might survive long enough to get somewhere with a good amount of supplies. If they died, and I lived... I'd probably be that crazy guy you have to shoot because he thinks you're a zombie too.

I'd certainly try, though I question my ability to survive in the early days, where it's not likely that I'd be aware that an infection was on the loose, and thus, I wouldn't be on my guard- especially if it wasn't that obvious who was infected and who wasn't that early on.
Aside from that, assuming that I could get a ladder and make it up to my roof without incident, I could probably do fairly well- though if zombies decided to actually stick around my house and wait for me to come down, I know I'd be fucked sideways due to lack of a means to get supplies out of my house.

Well, for a start, anyone who thinks they will have more bullets then zombies is delusional.
Now that that is out of the way. I don't think that real zombies will have that 'pack' mentality and/or collective conscience that various media hypes up.
The mental stability aside, with an able body as well as calm and thorough thinking, you should be able to last quite a while.
As for supplies, non-perishable food, that is incredibly easy as at least half the things you would see on a supermarket shelf would last for months if not years unopened. Water is significantly harder to keep on the other hand, if it is not factory-purified it will likely stagnate. And would you -really- trust most open even tap water if it could spread whatever is eating the zombies? (Bad pun intended) =3

Lets be more realistic here, not everyone has or can get access to firearms, and without stockpiles of ammo they are useless at best. Sword and a decent outfit that is bite/scratch resistant? Better choice. Will you likely have a Sword? Doubtful. What else can you use? -Anything- Something long and blunt is good, Long and pointed is better, Long and bladed is better still. Just keep in mind that you will probably only need to actually kill zombies infrequently, mainly if you need to slink around for supplies and to see whats going on.
In short, will everyone survive? Heck no.

I would have a good chance of surviving (I shouldn't really flatter myself) because i would tend to stick to being a lone wolf or small pack (see what i did there )But seeing as my girlfriend needs medication to control her diabetes I would most certainly kill myself knowing she died of her condition :'(
