But staying on topic - I sure wouldn't sacrifice myself for strangers - it's probably sad but I wouldn't even sacrifice my life for any one ...

I mean it's so dum when in some kind of movie the guy jumps in front of the bullet that's about to hit his ONE BIG LOVE ... dying instead of her ... yea and the point is you big hero? - You saved the life of her you'll die she will be grateful ... and live her life with some other guy ...
I mean this sacrifice seems reasonable when you lived together for 30-40 years I can understand that - but when it's that kind of young guy with secret love interest ... revealing his feeling at the age of 20 and dying for it ...

I'm a coward, and for all I know I may not even like those people, and I'm not even sure if I'd save their lives by jumping on the grenade. If humans are such good protection against explosives why don't tanks use babies for armour?

I probably think too long and the grenade would explode. But if I did something I sure hope i jump on the grenade, I think I couldn't with the thought I killed four people, even if they are strangers.

Save myself. I have a very strong survival instinct and I won't ruin that for people I do not know.

Also, they can jump out the window as well. If they can't think under pressure like I can, then they cannot be saved.

if it is just those 2 options I probably would dive out the window. Reason being that whomever through that grenade is going to follow up with storming the room, everyone dies. in a close confined space the force of the grenade would shred my body, doing minor injuries to the strangers but more importantly stunning them, killer storms in, shoots them while their disorientated, everyone dies.
I dive out the window on the other hand (I would shout a warning but that's not an option) and I have a chance of killing the bastard who did it.

But why do we have only these two choices? It's clear there's enough time to jump out the window, so why don't you pick up the grenade and throw it out, thus saving everyone (and possibly blowing up the bastard who threw it in)?

the reason i don't know these guy and society is going down the drain and it makes me think that i would better for some to die but if the guy is a better guy than like i guy who is trying to cure cancer or a best pal that i would save all of them.
