So, what's so important about this Arena thing? How does scoring well here benefit the rest of the game?
It's the main PvP attraction for the game, there's ladders for every battlegroup, you get titles and mounts depending on your standing at the end of the arena season. It also gives you the best PvP gear in the game.

Well of course! But still... Thats sweet money for arena grinding. Look at that way, if some rich knob wants WoW-fame that badly why not jump on board and reap the benefits of it. He wants to do that? Fine with me, I watch saturday morning cartoons, could quite easily be rivaled in 'patheticness' there.

As long as he's not hurting anyone or Soapbox-wailing, I'd clear away from the word 'pathetic'.
I'd go for 'bored and over payed'.

I hereby declare war on any instant WoW hater, Claiming that its just "Shit" or words to the effect of is stupid. Sometimes MMO's aint for you, and tahts grand, but you shouldent simply bash them cause you think you are too "Mature" or something to play WoW. Instantly hating WoW is up there with instantly hating a warhammer collector, its a mild form of idiocy.

Some of us have legitimate gripes with the game. Growing up on other things and thus finding the gameplay actually horribly unengaging, a dislike of the... playerbase... you know what I mean, and finding the art style aesthetically grating and generally appalling, blah blah blah. It's not that MMOs aren't for me, it's that WoW is the worst MMO I've ever played.

Now, I'm sure lots of people are just jumping on the "WoW sucks!" bandwagon, but keep this in mind: I am very disgusted with MMOs as a genre. Why? Because so many of them are essentially WoW clones. WAR? LotRO? If some one's keen enough to get into these games' betas (admittedly these were a while ago) and don't ever actually pay for the game... Yeah. I doubt I am the only one who is upset at WoW's long fingers. I also doubt all of them are capable of discussing their dislikes in a mature fashion.

Try not to be so judgemental.
Quoted for irony!

tl;dr: WoW haters are people too. Also, WoW players are people too.*

I do play WoW (80 Shadow Priest, great game)and there are plenty of other examples of people who do things similar to this:

-people will buy gold for money on some websites
-people will spend up to 1000$ on WoW TCG cards for things as trivial as a Turtle Mount or some Tiger
-people will spend quite a bit of money so people will level there character for them

to name a few.

Oh how I hate level grinding in anything! But isn't it all part of the experience? Paying someone else is pretty weak. It's my understanding that the best xp is gained through group campaigns. Isn't that supposed to be the really fun part of the game?

this is actually really old.

I mean, he may have reapplied the craigslist item, but it's a repost from like almost a year ago.

I've seen more ridiculous things on craigslist, one guy wanted to hire an amputee so that he could go as Chewbacca carrying C3PO for halloween

Ok, that is hilarious, why couldn't he just build a C3po to wear? I mean, they actual actor plaiyng C3PO wasn't in the suit when he was on Chewie's back in the movie.

I don't play WOW either but I don't need to to know this is sad and ridiculous.

Isn't the point of a game to have fun? And isn't that kinda lost when you pay someone else to play(or "assist") the game for you?
you have never played wow so don't assume the point is to have fun or that paying money for arena rating is sad.

Man, I need to start playing WoW. There's money to be made here.
It's probably harder work than a real job, TBH. I don't understand how anyone can reach the level cap and maintain a sociable existence.
getting max level is a very small part of wow, its the endgame content that gets people to loose there social life lol.

well alot of times the people who buy accounts and things like that have multiple 80s and once you have leveled to max level you never want to do it again!

Uh, then wouldn't you just move on to another game if you were sick of the basics of this one?
