True but the cinematic intros for the other expansions had a bit of story backdrop as well as showcasing the main boss' power a bit. Not just he's pissed rarrrr!oliveira8 said:This is the cinematic intro not the trailer. Also it shows all the story you need to know. Deathwing is free and is pissed.Kukakkau said:The clip confused me it seemed like they were smelting shackles on to Deathwing but then it seemed like they were freeing him then that they were putting armor on him. Eh??
Not too fond on this video - doesn't show a lot of story or new features to the game (besides the world revamping)
Also where the hell IS he being kept that he can destroy barrens with his tail, but fly up from snowy mountains and burn alliance areas to shit?
Also his tail wasn't beating on the Barrens. He is just that powerful. ^^
Exactly, except Cataclysm is actually happening and isn't just some overblown conspiracy theory a la Y2K.Deguasser said:so Cataclysm is the 2012 of WoW?
Yeah, allowing the whispers of the old gods to fuck with your mind is a bad idea folks because in some extreme cases it can lead to such heavy angst that even an emo would go "...fucking hell calm down"Novskij said:Deathwing sounds like an attention whore now.randomguy425 said:I think it's meh. My thoughts as well, I wonder if they installed a tape deck in his breastplate.Danzaivar said:Deathwing sounds like a Transformer!
What that trailer doesn't show is that the initial battle with the four pirates took about 20 minutes of you merely watching what was going on, another 10 minutes of dialogue, 20 minutes of travel time between systems, and who knows how many hours in between getting there and the bigger battle, which will consist of doing nothing but clicking once or twice every few minutes and watching your ship barely contribute.Delusibeta said:While we can argue over who has cooler trailers, I have to admit that CCP doesn't get enough credit for their trailers. Take this one as an example. [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08hmqyejCYU]mb16 said:we also have cooler trailers/intros
HEY YOU DONT SAY THAT! GNOMES ARE AMAZINGCaptain Pancake said:gnomes haven't featured, because gnomes are ridiculous creatures that ruin tension.
No, it's not I think better than the Wrath one, and you were spot on when you called Wrath's more subdued. And that's a good thing to be. Cata's is...well, aggressive, action-y and yes, pretty damn sweet looking, however, it doesn't hold that same gravitas. And it's mainly to do with the music, the Wrath backing music is mostly mournful choral with some amazing build up toward the end, in this one, it just beats you on the head with generic DUMPH DUMPH DUMPH RARRGH DRAGON! type music, not bad, just, not as epic as it could have been otherwise.John Funk said:randomguy425 said:I think it's meh. Cool eye candy though.
I mean, let's be honest here. We watch their videos for the eye candy (and the awesome cinematography, but that falls under "eye candy"), and this was awesome eye candy.
Much better than Classic/BC intros, IMO. Not sure if I like it as much as the WotLK one.
If you think this, you are not prepared.John Funk said:randomguy425 said:I think it's meh. Deathing doesn't do a whole lot other than fly around all "HEY GUIZ LEWK AT MEH!"Whaaaaaaaaaat?ciortas1 said:This is such utter meh'ness... It's making me sad.

Considering the canon is entirely made by Deathwi-..ekhem, Metzen, yes and no. He can retcon anything anytime (look: Draenei), but i guess whatever is killed in WoW is dead in Warcraft's universe.mad825 said:eh....
does WOW count towards the warcraft canon? if so I'm not going to bother with WarCraft 4 (the RTS) when it comes out in.....when? oh yea 2013.
I guess you could say that "All will burn underneath the shadow of my wings" is the borderline catchphrase line of this expansion.. but not nearly as iconic as the last two. Completely with you on placing it a notch under the WotLK cinematic.John Funk said:Snip
Yes, it's a shame that there's no "You are not prepared!" or "You... will be king" quote, which is why I'm tentatively slotting it below the WotLK cinematic. But visually, it's stunning imo.
